Unless you feel it's unsafe, I'm not sure I'd worry about it a whole lot considering you are replacing the suspension soon.

To the original author- I have a 2025 Taco Pro. Lots of experts on here giving you condescending life advice you didn’t ask for instead of actually helping. I too have experienced what I consider excessive chop that I feel in the upper 40mph range, regardless of road surface. I also seem to get it randomly. I drive a lot for work on both highway and urban roads. I’ve had an F150 2nd gen raptor, as well as both stock and lifted Duramax 2500s. I have never felt anything like this before. There is no world a brand new $70k truck should be doing that in 2025. Almost feels like the truck is going to come apart at speed. Hood shakes like crazy too. My driver seat has the dreaded popping noise dead center in my back going over almost every bump. So I think I am one of those lucky ones who got basically every potential factory flaw, or what have you. Nonetheless, it’s a sweet truck, and I love the size of it. Wanted another pickup but couldn’t justify the $ of a raptor and it’s just a little too big for my driveway. The Pro is my first mid size. If you figure out a way to make it smoother, do tell. I just put a set of 33x12.5 Toyo Open Country ATIII on the stock wheels and it made no difference. Perhaps a little rougher if anything. But looks rad. I felt the stock tires didn’t look right, too slight compared to the aggressive look of the truck, just my opinion. I’ve done all the different shock settings and find “2” is my preferred stiffness/ride quality of the three. It’s a sweet truck, hope it works out for you man!

    Great first post.

Maybe realize this was months ago, AND the original poster said he was replacing the entire suspension. But hey, you know better than us.

Well, yet another angry person. I was just curious about his situation and looking for answers myself. And no, I don’t know best, that’s why I’m here looking for help and advice. But that’ll be it for me here

This. My truck also has 50 psi and it jolted and rode very bouncy and rough during my first drive home from the dealership. I would advise every new owner to check your tire psi and set it to 30 ~ 35

Maybe the shock tuning needs to be revised I doubt Toyota put a lot of road miles on the Pro Fox shocks during R&D. 3G Pro was always getting revised front springs every few years.

Well you may be gone, but your second post (quoted) was spot on, and made the whoever made post #103 that you were responding to retract or delete it, or mods erased it. Congratulations. You left TW a smidge better.

I would suggest since your truck is new with a warranty take it to the dealership you purchased it at and make them sort it out. It may be a situation where Toyota may not do anything since you have installed larger tires.

That's too bad, the other outcome would have been better. But this is what I see. And it's not due to ignored members, those show blank posts with the author listed. Must just be me manifesting...

IDK what the pro feels like but the ride quality was the deciding factor keeping me out of the 4th gen for now.

The OffRoad trims and others I tested, it felt light you could read braille if you drove over it. They soak up big hits great, but the small imperfections you feel every minute detail in the road. My long term tester over one stretch of road, if I pressed my head into the headrest it would rattle my brain. (This is after I lowered the tire PSIs to the low 30s too)

No other vehicle I've driven of mine or my family's fleet has transmitted that much road imperfections into the cabin. Be it a Ram, Expedition, Corolla, 4Runner, Forester, WRX, Camry, etc. IDK if it is how rigid they have made the new frame or what, maybe that amount of chassis stiffness does not lend itself to soaking up that particular aspect of NVH. All the Toyotas on this new TNGA platform I've driven exhibit a degree of this harshness

The OR shocks are not my favorite. I’m pretty sure it’s the internal bump stop design.

I’m going to check in with my local favorite offroad shoppe, and have a chat with them about some Dobinsons or something else.

What did you have before the 24? Are you on stock tires?

I too was hoping it can be fixed with the shocks, but I figure I’d wait for others to find that out for me haha.

It was only half a mile but the ‘25 SR5 4Runner I recently was in seemed to be better. I’d actually need more seat time but I’m interested in those since I’m keeping my ancient 1st gen. So hopefully it is the shocks because I love the new powertrain and how these trucks drive.

Yes,stock tires. Never had a truck before, always had sports cars so was expecting a harsher ride in the Tacoma but was pleasantly surprised how good the ride quality is. A friend of mine lent me his 23 trd OR for 2 weeks and that truck was terrible to drive, could never get comfortable, getting in and out without banging your head was near impossible. The transmission was complete crap always searching for the right gears and the engine was gutless. Luckily I test drove the 24 before buying because based on the 23 I would have never purchased a Tacoma.

I still don't get it. Why would you want to buy a pickup truck and be concerned with ride quality. Granted some are better than other, but it's still a utilitarian vehicle. Today's pickup trucks are leaps and bounds better (in ride quality) over the 70's, 80's and 90's circa models. My first new rig was a '76 Chev 4x4 step-side pickup. It would shatter your teeth compared to modern pu's. My '24 OR is wonderful and rides better than my previous 87, 98, and 07 (although all gens were comfortable).

Because for most of us, they’re daily drivers. If it rode like an unloaded commercial truck, I wouldn’t buy it just because it can kinda go off road or haul my stuff. Ride quality matters because I spend 15-20k miles a year sitting in it.

similarly, while mpg isn’t a prime concern, I cannot understand the “who cares, it’s a truck!” crowd. Sure, I’m not expecting 30, but I wouldn’t buy the truck if it got 12.

I understand what you're saying but lots to discuss regarding this (just like my opinion - ey), but I'll keep mum.
