My Tacoma didn’t come with the JBL sound system but I was able to get the A pillars with the JBL tweeters. Anyone know how I can wire them up?

First, you need to determine which speaker (dash or door) is full-range. Next, run new wire to all 3 locations to a central spot where you will mount the crossover. (Keeping in mind there’s not enough power in the stereo to properly run a 3-way setup) Then, you need to run wire from the output of the speaker you prior determined was full range, for signal.

Now comes the fun part. Fabricating a new mount for the tweeter you want, so that it won’t fall out in the first bump, or when you close the door.

JBL system sucks in the Tacoma. It sounds like any other standard audio system. My 2020 forester with Harmon Kardon that was standard sounds 10x better. Why even bother.

So you recommend just swapping out those tweeters for something else?

I can’t recommend anything but if your expectations is that the sound will improve then don’t be disappointed.

I like the aesthetics of the tweeter mounts for the JBL, but for an audiophile stand point its not an ideal location...
Really hard to aim tweeters on axis at the location...
That being said, you went with the whole deal, pillar & tweeter...
I know those A pillar plastics are far from cheap, theyre a fortune actually....
I was thinking about doing the same things if I went with a stripped-out SR5....
