I installed Sumo Springs blue progressive bump stops on the rear to give support when hauling weight and especially when towing. Our travel trailer has about 600lbs or tongue weight (as configured in this photo with the bikes). This 600lbs on the hitch really sat the rear of the truck down and even with a WDH, its a little spongy due to the nice riding rear coil springs. The SumoSprings sit about 1" above the top of the axle with no load so the truck rides like stock.

    Without WDH or SumoSprings:

The WDH resolves most of the sag but the SumoSprings helps prevent excess bouncing when driving over dips in the road. This truck pulls the 4k lbs camper extremely well..... the term "effortlessly" might be a stretch.... but not by much.

Fender heights are recorded in photo. Heights with no load are 38" rear and 36.75" front.

I ordered OEM front hooks online for ~$130 shipped to dealer. Wife picked them up from dealer for me today.

They are nice. They weigh just under 2.5lbs each. I sketched up a drawing so I can bolt them on but I'm probably going to make some from 7075 AL if we have some scraps at work. If no 7075, I'll use 6061 but make the mounting plate area thicker.

Here's a pic next to the one that came on my '25 TRD OR(right).

OEM recovery points installed. I like them.

Did you notice any difference in the ride quality going from a 17" to 18" wheel?

I always thought the larger the wheel, the worse the ride, plus I feel like the smaller wheel would be better for off roading with more sidewall.

Ride is about the same but there is a smidge more road noise with the Ridge Grapplers. Sidewall is the same height as it was because the wheel is 1" larger and so is the tire diameter. But a 17" with a 285/70r17 would be similar diameter with a larger sidewall and would be better for offloading.

As expected, I lost about 1mpg in fuel mileage.

I do wish the wheels were a +35 offset to push the wheels out a little closer to the face of the fender flares but Im happy with it otherwise.

I just like the look of the larger wheels.

I've been wanting to do this DIY Trailhunter tailpipe since I purchased the truck 3 months ago. Sure, I could spend $80 to $200 for an OEM or aftermarket one but I have the skills to do this for free and wanted to do it. Once I discovered that its a "simple" two cut and weld procedure my decision was made.

Basically, I made a cut just behind the hanger and then rotate the bend downward and chop the end off:

I used a cut off wheel and angle grinder to make the cuts:

I used an angle grinder to make sure the ends are square. I have a friend that can weld better then me so I had him weld it. I made marks to show the orientation so the flat downward cut is parallel with the mounting holes(not critical).
