$250 for a new TRD CAI

mine came in two days but it is missing the rubber seal that goes around where the box seals against the inerfender

 

mine was absolutely complete except the parts that are meant to be reused. the rubber gasket where the airbox meets the fender is a requirement as i see it. 1) to eliminate any rattles between the airbox and the fender, and 2) reduce the amount of hot engine air that enters the airbox.

maybe contact the seller if you're missing parts??? good luck guys.

 

I sent payment on 10/16, right now I'm trying to be patient. No tracking number yet. I'll probably email for that today.

 

Ok my TRD Catback exhaust system arrived today. It made it here very fast. For $39 it made it here in about 3 or 4 days which is very impressive. I saw some websites wanted $125 for ground shipping.

I recommend Toyota of Richardson: the price was great, it arrived promptly, and the customer service was very friendly. There is a very small dent on the TRD tip which I am not happy about (see pictures). There is nothing I can really do because I am not going to ship it back to texas to get a new one.

I had it shipped to my office and had it installed at a nearby muffler shop on my lunch break (30 min!) for $60. First impressions are that it is considerably louder, deeper, and throatier. I only drove it a few blocks so I can't tell about any increased performance. The sound is def much different than stock. Already tossed my stock exhaust, so I hope I like it!

Look where the light reflection bends about 2/5 from the left to right:

 

ordered mine yesterday, got an email that estimated ship date as today. hopefully i will have it mid-week next week. congrats!

the mud on the mudflap totally draws attention away from the small dent LOL

 

TRD CAI update.

So my update finally arrived yesterday, took about 10 days from order date. I was a little worried as the UPS tracking never updated until the day it was delivered. But as BigLuke said just be patient.

I have not opened it yet, gonna install this weekend. woot woot!

TRD Cat Back performance, I notice a difference, seems quicker off the line and up hills, tends to stay gear longer before having to down shift going up hills. I love it.

 

I received and installed my TRD exhaust yesterday. VERY satisfied with the purchase. Total paid $357, shipping was free!

 

CAI delivered and installed yesterday... very simple and sounds lot more throatier on accel and throttle response seems better.

I'll have to give rep to Toyota of Richardson (local to me) they are great to deal with. I'll be getting the TRD Cat back as soon as I can

that guy on ebay is an a-hole wouldnt help me out at all with the parts missing, no refund or exchange. he told paypal i was a lyer. ended up going to toyota and ordering a replacement hardware kit for it for another $45

 

sorry to hear of your bad experience. if all you were missing was the rubber gasket between the airbox and inner fender you could have gotten it at an auto parts or hardware store for about $1.50. also, report him to ebay and paypal if you are unsatisfied with your purchase. they must remain objective until resolution is found.

 

i went to all of the auto part and hardware stores in my area and nobody had anything compairable. and i reported him to ebay and paypal and he told them i was a lyer and i must have lost it when i opened the box so they sided with him

 

Does anyone know if he is still offering this steal of a deal?

Well apparently I cannot get a TCAI because my parents do not believe it is worth it
