Compared to the 265 70 17 and 265 75 16 size a lot of people are running. The 255 75 17 is a standard load tire so it has less ply than that of a c load range tire. The result is a softer tire that is smoother riding. It also makes it lighter...then combine that with it being narrower (less surface friction) and you get a little better mpgs even though you gain about a half inch in tire hight. This tire size also makes my dual cab long bed much easier to park because it requires so much less effort to turn a narrow tire at low speeds. Hope this is helpful!

Just FYI. For anyone mulling this over. Spent a lot of time debating my new tires. 255/75/17 work great on my stock 2014 dclb TRD Sport.

I haven’t taken it in any flexing situations but normal driving (full lock, reverse, turning onto my steep driveway etc they seem to work fine no rub).

Hey guys I know I’m a little late to this discussion but I’ve noticed most guys running the duratracs in this size on a stock taco. Do we know if ko2’s or any other tire would clear as well as the duratrac in this size? I would hate to take a gamble and find out I’m rubbing after spending a bunch of money... hope someone else has some experience thanks
