I'm running the same 255's that DaWillDaBeast has in his pic. Great tires but a bit noisy with a shell on (kind of resonates in the shell). I have 2 inches of lift, and the tires look good. Hold the two sizes side by side; not much difference, it won't be noticeable when on the truck.

You guys with the 255's.. what kind of terrain do you wheel in? I need something good for snow, sand, mud, rock, and street.

I don't get much chance to wheel these days. My 255 BFG MT's have done an awesome job the several times I've crossed I-80 over Donner Summit with chain controls. This same tire will probably be less than ideal in sand, it's probably too aggressive. I suspect tread design will have a greater effect on performance by terrain than the difference between 255's and 265's. I run 255's simply because I got a beyond killer deal on them.

Excellent, I like the idea of 255/75/17. about as big as you can go before you have to do much trimming/cutting/hammering?? If I put them on a 17x8 wheel with 4" bs would that cause much rubbing (with 2" lift up front, maybe TSB's out back)? My truck is new so I'm not ready to cut it up yet. A few years later is another story.
