Hey guys, I would love to get a set of these tires (Cooper STT MAXX 255/80/17) and I am trying to figure out how to make it work. I have a 2016 TRD off-road DCLB.

Wanted to put some method NV wheels on which have an offset of 0 and backspace on 4.75.

I have a 2016 OME 2 inch lift kit. No UCA's yet because the place putting on the lift states that it will have a better alignment with the stock UCA's.

Will this lift be big enough to make these tires work? Should I have to do much trimming? Guys on here have all had mixed reviews on this but a lot of them were 2nd gens and not 3rd gens. Iv'e heard to try and stay as close as possible to the offset and backspacing as stock wheels, not 100% what the 2016 TRD off-road stock wheel specs are.

Any help I can get is appreciated!

withe the 2" lift you should be fine, however, UCA's will probably be needed to adjust caster so you won't rub. Make sure to post some pics when your done, would love to see it.

Just wondering why you want narrower tires than stock.

Can you help me understand the 4.75 back spacing? How come it will help? How much was your lift and have you flexed it out at all to see if it rubs then?

Of course I have. I live near the Rockies. Lol I've flexed it all she can go stuffed the front and rear with no rubbing at all. I spent around 2500 with everything. Icon coilover front and icon 2.0 rear with resi. The method will push the tire out a little further away from the UCA so that helps and I don't think you will run inside the wheel well

This tire size known as "pizza cutters" tall and skinny are desired by some to achieve more ground clearance and there have been studies shown that they perform better off road than a fat wide tire. To each their own.

With coilovers it's a good idea as it helps others alignment and for more articulation and handle more extreme angles better. They also help with clearance. If you go ome I would go light racing UCA. They probably just don't want to do the work. It can be a little bit of a pain but I did my own lift and UCA. Wasn't too bad. I watched YouTube videos and got it done haha

I might just have them do LR UCA's. I mean, is there even a downside to doing it? I think I read somewhere that it could increase the chances on other things going wrong.

ive never heard that in my life. Maybe give you too much droop and stress the shock??? I can't imagine anything else.it would help clear the coils too.

So with these tires, would having a 7 inch wheel or 8.5 inch wheel make any difference for fitting/rubbing? The TRD pro wheel is 7 inches and the method NV is 8.5. Both technically work for the 255/80/17 cooper STT MAXX
