255/80/17 in stock spare location?

    Khaya Camper with Custom Mods - BP-51's, 4.88's, 33's', Dissent Offroad Front and Rear with Bud Built on the sides...
    Needing to make a decision on tires and can't find anyone running this in the stock local.. Tried in the tire and wheel section but only 2nd gens...

    Anyone have experience fitting this?

    I mounted my 255/85/16 in the spare location. I didn't like how it rubbed against the exhaust heat shield, so I dropped the spare tire mount and remounted it an inch or so towards the tail gate by putting the front bolts in the rear bolt holes, and using the rear bolt holes to drill new holes in the mounting plate.

    Some others have bent the metal tire guides to fit the bigger tires as well. Check the 255/85/16 thread for some details.
