255/80/17 on 9in. rim?????

Has anyone ever put a 255/80/17 on a 17x9 rim??? The rim width range that is recommended is 6.5-8.5 but the wheels I want to use only come in 17x9.

Does anyone think the 1/2in. wider, 9in. rim will cause any problems???

Thoughts?????

 

You should always try to stick to the manufacturer's recommendation. They engineered it, tested it, and know more than what any of us can suggest. It's better to be safe than sorry. I highly recommend you stick within the recommended specs.

Oh, sure, be the voice of reason why don't you. Couldn't you tell I was looking for the wrong answer to be the "right" answer. You know, kinda like when your wife asks you if the jeans she is wearing make her ass look big. yeahhhh, I had a hunch that was going to be the answer. I'll have to look into the 285's now.
