Installed. Terrible lighting in the garage doesn’t highlight the tires at all but the stance looks much different. I took off air dam and mud flap. Looks like I could put them back on it I wanted. No rub at all while driving under normal conditions. Full lock backing into a ramped driveway I heard a small squeak. Something hit. Not going to even look into it. Very happy with the look.

Can you fit a full size 255 80 17 underneath in the spare…yes. Yea, you can. Took some metal rearrangement but she’s in. Toight as a Toiger, but in.

Anyone running this size tire with a 2" lift and Method 701's on a 2nd gen without major issues?

Not the same but close. I’ve got a 255/85/17 on a method 701. Zero issues without an alignment, however I’ve trimmed a lot and got a CMR

Looking to run a similar setup. I'm currently on stock OR wheels and ST Maxx 255/85/16 with 1.5 spacers (Ran two sets of ST Maxx 255s). I want to switch to SCS F5 17x8.5" -10mm offset and a wlidpeak 255/80/17. My concern is that they will stick out of the wheel well on the 17x8.5 wheel. Have any side photos?

@GrandTheftAngel How did you end up getting rid of the rubbing? I recently installed Wildpeaks in 255/80/17 and I am also rubbing on the upper control arms at full turn. Seems to happen more when I am braking for a turn and the front suspension compresses a bit. Don't think they rub at ride height. I have them on the 4Runner OR rims (17"x7.5" with a +15mm offset).

I actually haven't done anything about it. I think a negative offset would fix it but cba to get spacers or new rims atm. for now I just do my best not to do a full turn to avoid rub. just rotated my tires today and there is a mark on both upper control arms from where is rubs and the dude noted wear on the inside of the tire but says it's not from the upper control arms so who knows. alternatively you could replace the upper control arms to something more sleek and better suited for aggressive all terrains.

Thanks for the info. After further investigation, I don't think it's rubbing on the UCA at all, it's all rubbing on the front fender. I'm planning on cutting back the fender this weekend and confirm there is no more rubbing. Hopefully it works, but if not, I will be back here looking for answers haha.

I think it’s more likely rubbing on the rear of the wheel well as that’s the typical place for rubs. The UCA or fender flare is unlikely because a 255 is actually narrower than the stock 265.

Personally I have plenty of clearance in the front and I have an alignment that pushes my tire forward. I got the alignment after experiencing some rubbing.

Just ordered the Ironman 3” lift and spc uca’s.. hoping to go with the falken wildpeak 255/80/17. Will I likely have rub? I see a lot info but whether or not there’s a lift is not always stated.
I’m hoping to keep my mud flaps to save the paint on the side of my truck.
    TIA.

I understand most people rub in the rear, but I have plenty of clearance there. Maybe I just got lucky. I initially thought it was the UCA rubbing because there were marks on there, but we determined that was most likely from mounting them. One reason to get the skinnies was to avoid this issue.

I only have rub marks on the front fender. Should be pretty easy to remedy once I get to it...

Running 255/80/17 wildpeaks and stock mudflaps, no rubbing at full stuff. Stock alignment numbers.

Tire slightly “touches” front of fender liner when turned left/right and going over bumps, not an issue at all.
