255/85/16 and stock bumper question

    This is a little outside the box. I want to run this tire size with my stock bumper.

    Could some of you running this setup measure from the bottom edge of your front rim(s) to the fender flare. I want to know how much clearance I need. This measurement will take away the difference from tire size and tread depth variations - plus I'm on 265/70/16 right now.

    I know I'll get "just lift 2.5+"...

    I have the tires. I just need that specific measurement to know if I'll fit.

    I want the measurement to see how much clearance folks have who have them fitting. If I don't have enough clearance I'll stay in the 265 zone for now. In no hurry, and actually don't plan to run them until summer. I have the tires, but they aren't mounted to any of my rims. Thinking about putting them on a set if they'll fit without removing mudflaps/ trimming

    Billies 5100's front set to 1.75 plus 1/4 taco lean spacer. Rears Billies plus AAL for a 2" leaf. 265/75/16 BGF's. Double din Kenwood stereo w/bluetooth and steering wheel controls and JBL speakers front & rear. Heavy duty battery. Billet grill blacked out. K&N air filter and MBRP cat-back. Just tuned it up new plugs and new front brake pads. Steel powered coated tailgate cap. Billet Grill painted black & factory roof racks. Oh new head lights thanks to toyota.
    FYI, here is the spec for both tire. no sure if this helps.

    Mine fit with no cutting needed on stock wheels and 2.5in lift. Lift doesn't really affect the shape and size of the fender well.

    Maybe I wasn't clear. I just want someone to pull a tape measure from the bottom edge of their rim up to the bottom edge of the fender. Mine measures 31 inches. I want to compare with those running 255/85/16 and stock bumper. I figured this was not much to ask, and I'm sorry if I was unclear. Thanks.

    These guys? Yeah, they're always getting ahead of themselves (or is that me?) The third one wouldn't stay in the pic, just followed me around like I'm handing out treats - which I might do on occasion.

    Once again, thanks berk. Sick looking rig too, man.

    I might need to get sliders before skids so I can remove the front mudflaps to run these. I don't mind flattening the pinch weld if need be at that point. I'd like to just throw them on my stock steel wheels which currently sport bald tires that I only run in summer.

    Do I need offset for this size?

    My 265s on offset wheels protrude to the edge of the fender. I'm concerned offset would make 255/85s hit the fender (not planning to add glass)

    I'm trying to do practical mods on a budget, and taller tires add clearance - that's as practical as it gets.

    i think everyone was telling you..you could measure your own truck. all things equal, the center of the hub will stay in the same place, no matter which diameter tire you install on that wheel.

    am i wrong? i could be wrong. i havent slept

    OP you could measure the new tires, divide by two, and pull that distance from center hub, up to the fenders and get a ballpark, "go" or "no-go".

    I am lifted. I set my 5100s at 1.75. Before doing so the measurement I am asking for was 28.5. After the lift I am somehow at 31 inches on both sides with lean spacer. They are set up properly and on the third setting from the bottom, not the top setting. The rear is currently lifted just over level with my ride rite airbags - rear suspension upgrades planned for the future. Seeing as how I am somehow 2.5 inches higher than I was stock, I wanted to get an accurate measurement comparison with someone running 255s to see if they would fit. I've been looking to replace the rubber on my summer rims, but I dont want to pay to mount tires that I can't run. The tires in question are used toyo m55 255/85/16 E rated tires that are off a friend's work truck - roughly 50% tread.

    It sounds like at 31 inches for that measurement, on stock steel rims, I have a good chance of this working. I think I'll mount them on the wheels and try them for the summer. I do the least off road driving in the summer, so the least chance for rubbing. If it works well, I'll step up to this size for winter too.

    Edit: I didn't want my OP to be so wordy, so asked for a simple measurement. I'm 40 years old and like to think things through extensively. I have many other places my money needs to be spent and don't want to waste it on a failed attempt at improving a perfectly functional truck.
