    Hahahaha

But now I’m gonna “un-sub” because i have read about this tire size soooooo much. I’m installing 255 85 R16’s Cooper ST Maxx’s This weekend on a set of SCS Rims. I think it’s gonna be great!!

Like the old Ford Crew Cab and a Diesel to boot. As far as your question about fitting those tires on the 09 taco with 3" lift. I'm going to say probably not, but am not an expert in the slightest.

    255/85/16=33x10
    285/75/16=33x11.5
    315/70/17=34.4x12.5

From what I have read it seems like the guys running spacers had more rubbing and scrub radius issues. This may not be the best thread for your particular question.

My signature is just a joke since so many on here want 35s with no rubbing.

Definitely the wheels I want to go with, and yes i read the entire Skinny on Skinny myself. It did convert me from 265/75/16 to the 255/85/16 though. Hopefully pick the truck up tomorrow and get it aligned.

Next set of tires will definitely be mounted on some SCS Rims. Unless i find something else before then. I just couldn't swing wheels on top of the build and tires.

Back in the old days of TW, you had to post to be subscribed. If you didn't have anything to add, but wanted to follow a thread, you just posted "subbed."

The revamp added a lot of useful features.

    And to stay on topic...
I'm on my 3rd set of tires in this size, all on stock steel rims with no wheel spacers. No trimming and no rubbing (since SPC UCAs). I also have spacers on top of my 885/5100 setup. I compressed the tires into the top of the wheel well once. Instead of spacing my bumps, I just added the spacer lift - 1/2" spacers for 1" of lift. I wanted the additional lift too. Two birds, one stone.

Well that makes a lot of sense on the subbed part. I think that I should be good with my set up then. i went with the 887 which i believe is about 1/2 inch higher lift. I also added SPC UCA to adjust caster to as close to 3 as possible. Eventually i would like to look into a progressive or 2 stage bump. I think timbren is what I have been looking at. But a lot of people run superbump with no complaints.

Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.

As I mentioned above, I'm on my 3rd set in this size. The first set was Toyo M55 in load D. They don't make those anymore. I have a set of the same in load E. Really good tires in all condidtions. I just spent the winter on Dean Backcountry MTs in load E and REALLY liked them (siped and studded). I'm back on my M55s for the non winter months (well, it's still snowing in Montana). We'll see how they wear, but I prefer the Backcountry MT to the M55 right now.
