If you don't already have some I don't know if I would. I have two new ones and two old ones so I just picked up a couple on Amazon to replace the two old ones...

Should be okay if I get 5 of them. Theyre what I want from the options in 255s, I like the toyos but theyre pricey.

But if you lose one (or two) then it will be hard to replace...

Losing two seems unlikely, but that would suck. I guess I will just wait some more and see if they actually are discontinued or not.

If BF Goodrich is really discontinuing their KM2 in 255/85R16 this is great news for Cooper, but leaves us "tall & skinny" guys one less GOOD tire in this size. But as we know, sales volume is what determines what is available going forward. I would have liked to try the KM2 in this size, but my Cooper ST will have to be replaced by something else.

I have been really happy with my st/max from cooper. They clean out really well, and have great road manners on winter roads which was really important. It is an aggressive all terrain though so not really comparable with the km2. Really the only other company off the top of my head is interco. Anyone DD any interco tires?

I would like to hear of Interco experience as well. They offer the SSR in 35x10.5x16 as well as other sizes that could be Tacoma friendly. At $400 each it needs to be highway capable !

I've been running the Toyo 255/85 since Sep 2013...and about 18k miles later they are almost bald.

while 90% of the driving was highway and maybe 500miles of off-roading, I thought they'd last longer.

The tire manufacture date is back in 08(purchased in 13), so I think that is the big reason why they wore out so fast.

It's a solid tire and I never got stuck anywhere, but I'm a little sketchy about the short life I got out of mine. Might try the new BFG-KO2, they have a 34x10.5x17 coming out in March which is another close size...but I'd have to get new rims(17s)

Toyo's are $300 on Amazon and $40 to mount/balance, so I'm sort of stuck in which way to go.

I thought the Toyo's were supposed to be commercial grade rugged ?

Yeah , the new KO2 size is essentially 265/80/17

I was interested in the 34" KO2's as well but looks like they'll be about $300. A couple of websites have their prices up for them already but they show them "out of stock". I might just stick with the 255/80/17 Coopers to save some money

that's what I thought too, which is why I paid the extra for em...

I still have a full spare from the 08 batch that I was thinking of ordering 3 new ones and run those keeping the best looking current tire as a spare, at least use up the spare vs dumping it. if the rubber age was the reason for the fast wear down, buying 3 more now would be a waste.

    $300 would be ok for tires with a 6yr warranty...Toyo's don't have a mileage warranty :(

if the tires were wearing out weird and stuff, I could warranty them for that...but flat out wearing bald after 1.5years of ownership is too fast, considering these tires are known to last.

Do you think you got a bad batch or do they just not last long?
