    Lots of stuff
I have plenty of room even with compression of the rear suspension. And yes I have the factory tow hitch.

Im thinking its because of the aftermarket tow hitch, I will have to measure and compare tomorrow.

All I had to do was bang those brackets with a sledge hammer and the spare fits fine. Didn't have to alter exhaust hanger either. I have an 06 Shortbed and factory tow hitch. Maybe things under the truck changed a bit with the later model 2nd gens?

By brackets do you mean the two tabs or do you mean the whole bracket that the tire snugs up against?

I hit, banged, and bent outward with a sledge hammer the two curved brackets (tabs?) that the tire snugs up against. See picture of curved bracket I am referring to...

These things bend really easy, took a few seconds to provide enough clearance to fit a 33inch tire. This was one of the easier mods I've done, lol. Like I said before, if this doesn't work for you then maybe things are a little different under the later model trucks.

Ya those are the tabs, which I got rid of already. I think my problem is the aftermarket hitch. Will go back under today and take a look.

Your issue must be the aftermarket hitch.

Its not going to happen unless I re-engineer the crossbar that the winch is mounted on. Going to put the stock 265/70/16 back on.

What is the minimum amount of lift needed to clear 255/80/17 or 255/85/16? Going on a 2015.

So I could just get some bilstein 5100 for the front to level it and mount 255's don't mind trimming and removing flaps. would I have to do a CMC? Will I need wheel spacers? I currently have trd offroad, but was thinking of getting the trd pro wheels off a 4runner.

Don't need spacers. And I don't have a cmc done and wheel just fine with 255s.

What kind of issues arose with the 255s on stock off road wheels with 1.25 spacers.

Debadged, took off front mud flaps, prevent tailgate theft mod, Magnaflow 18" muffler, Bilstein 5100s front and rear w/ front @1.75, wet okoles, plasi dipped front emblem, weathertechs, scangauge, toolbox, Bed pocket lights, BHLM, T1 eyelids, BAMF sliders, Bruteforce Fab rear bumper

The reason 255s fit so well on stock wheels is because of the backspacing and how they tuck in the wheel wells. Once you start adding spacers and/or different wheels you'll start smashing your fenders when stuffed. I'm only at about an inch of lift and I never rub because of the wheels. If I had spacers any time I stuffed them I'd rip off my fenders

We'll see what happens. I bought spacers originally to fit 285s and already installed them. I had a change of heart and bought some 255 cooper st off ebay. I know a lot of folks run 255s with wheel spacers but haven't really read too much about the issues that come with running them.

Also I don't see ripping off fenders. 285s stick out way further and folks wheel the heck out of their trucks and they don't tip off fenders

Ended up removing my hitch to get the spare in. I am probably going to remove the entire crossbar and remount the winch up higher so that I cant get the spare to sit up high.
