Lifting doesn't matter, unless you are talking a body lift. but, yes, lifted a bit - OME springs and 5100's on the lowest setting. Mine are rubbing more on the left than right (not sure why the camber adjustment is maxed out on the left, not the right) and it rubs in the back of the wheel arch near the pinchweld. I guess that mod is next. I am thinking i should have just had them mounted up on stock wheels! :)

dick cepek extreme country 255/85/16 on trail teams wheels with 1.25" spidertrax. did pretty good on the rub this weekend. I have done CMC, and hammered the pinch weld flat. also cut some plastic, lower flare area.

Wow. I just noticed that Toyo Open Country A/T II's now come in 255/80R17. I'm almost positive these weren't offered just 6 months ago. These are pretty tempting for me. The ST Maxx's have never let me down off-road, but I'm finding them a bit much for my daily driver. These Toyo's are e-rated but still weigh only 50 lbs. More conservative tread pattern too.

I'm not seeing a 255/85R16 size yet though.

It's great to see more skinnies from other manufacturers though.

How are these working out? How's the highway noise? Surprised you had to run wheel spacers.

Not sure I had to run wheel spacers but I like the stance. tires are doing great so far highway noise just a slight hum not overbearing at all

I run 255/75/17s, haven't taken them offroad but they hold up great in the rain and snow. went with these over wider tires to try and save on some MPGs but hasn't made the difference I was hoping for. probably switch to wider tires if I start wheeling more but these work great for nowimage1.jpg image2.jpg

Is cooper discontinuing the ST Maxx in this size? Seems like they are increasingly difficult to find and more expensive. (Sorry if I missed this in the discussion, this is a long-ass thread.)

I asked this some pages back but no one replied. I checked with the local tire shop and they had access to lots of ST Maxx in this size.

Anyone have any more information on the 255/80/17's that Toyo is offering now? Their website shows the Open Country AT II and RT as being available in 255/80/17 now. They're lighter than the ST MAXX at 50 and 56 lbs respectively.

I ran them in a different size. They are good for what they are meant to be. Just don't expect them to perform exceptionally well off road. I was very impressed with how long they lasted. I had 40,000 miles on them when I sold the truck. There was plenty of usable tread left. I have no doubt it would be a 60,000 mile tire.

Can't decide on a 17" wheel to run, so went with some Toyo 255s in the meantime. So far, so good. 20170419_152841.jpg
