And they perform extremely well. Much better than 285s in nearly all conditions.

Truck looks great...I've been looking into these, but was a little worried about the balancing issues I've read about. Good to know.

Yeah there was a half mile open, due to the birds, but there were way less people on that end of the beach. I want to do it again next year, before the birds nest in august.

5100's @2.5 and add a leaf. 255/80R17 Cooper ST Maxx.
Went to citrus wma for the first time with a friend to try out the new tires. 255/80r17 st maxxs on level 8 wheels 17x8.5 4.53 backspacing. No noticible rub anywhere aired down to around 25 psi and no issues. Flex was great and so was traction. Was able to run on 2wd for the great majority of the time. They cleaned out pretty good compared to my friends 255/75r17 duratracs. Happy I went with the 255s over the 285. Haven't had to trim or cut anything only had to remove all mud flaps.DSC_0485.jpg DSC_0479.jpg DSC_0473.jpg 20170812_143303.jpg

Has anyone gone from a 285 to a 255 with the same exact tire? Specifically with the S/T Maxx?

Trying to confirm whether 255/80r17's ST Maxx on 17x7" (+4 offset, 4.2 BS) TRD Pro/Sema wheels will work stuffed and without rubbing??

    OR

should I stick with 1st gen 16" TRD "star" alloy wheels that are 16x7 (+15 offset, 4.5 BS)??

    Thanks!

I thought I'd be different and go with the TrXus M/T 255/85-16. I had em on an old Blazer years ago and dug them. However these are cupping horribly after 8 months and 10K miles. I've tried different air pressures, from 35 to 55psi, but nothing seems to slow the inevitable. Will not be purchasing them again.

Just ordered Level 8s from Discount Tire today and they have -6 offset, plus I got 255/85r16s Cooper ST Maxx to wrap them. Yes, the -6 offset will work.

Do you have a matching spare mounted under the truck?
