I know guys that run the maxx down to 16 on sand. But my question is the effective flex. Psi is just a number. I'm curious the amount of deformity you can get with a light truck on an E load in this size.

I would have eventually gotten around to asking that question too haha
Here in my neck of the woods it’s mostly large rock/fire access roads.

Ditto. We are literally called the granite State. If I don't find any info I guess I'll just have to fall on the sword. Shucks.

I run my Maxxis Bighorns down to 12psi if the terrain warrants it. I wheel mostly in the Sierra Nevada. Now the granite in the Sierra isn't the same as the granite in NE. My parents live in Portsmouth, NH and moved here from CT. That granite is a bit sharper.

Anyway...at 12psi my tires buldge maybe 2 inches out. If I've got a wheel in the air and and all the weight is on one tire and my tire is on a ^ shaped rock it'll bulge more. I've got a camper shell with a platform, with 1 drawer, a fridge on a slide (often full of steaks and beer) and a 19 gallon aux tank that may or may not be full of fuel so it's probably around 600 pounds.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm at around 600lbs as well so that's good to know.

They'll flex and deform just fine. Of course, you're never in a position to stop for pics when you're that mashed up though. Ha ha.

I had a set of 255 BFG M/T's and they worked great in the mud and handled beautifully. But once they started to wear down some they were terrifying in the rain and on wet roads. I sold them when they still had probably 25% tread left because I wasn't comfortable driving with them anymore.

I currently have 255 85 r16 km2s which I really like. But now I am looking at getting some of those nice black trd 17in rims, so I am looking at 255 80 r17 tires (either km2 or st maxx's)
Now my issue... As I look at tire weights... The r17 km2s seem to weigh more than the r16, which seems very counter intuitive... Why is this?

Seems the Coopers look less like pizza cutters compared to other tires.
