16"x7" 11mm backspacing and 4mm offset. That's what I am finding on Toyota Parts Center.

Backspacing is usually in about the 4 to 5 inches not mm.
4-11mm offset on a 7 inch rim would be about 4.25 to 4.5 inch backspace.

I found you need 4.5 inch backspacing to fit 255/85r16
    And stock uca.
If you get uca with caster built in it may rub, so get spc uca.

Yup got them already. That's what I was thinking also and why I was a little confused by the numbers provided. I am not good with wheel specs to know what I need to fit certain tires so thank you for your help.
This is the site I was using for reference on the specs. https://parts.olathetoyota.com/blog/trd-pro-wheels-faqs

Someone put me out of my misery... Running the stock P245/75R16s today (stock suspension) ... What I believe I read was that the biggest I can go is a 265/75/16? (im staying at 16 for now)
Slap me with some reality here, but why does it look like I have alot more room to go up?
Where does the "Rub" happen... Doesn't feel likt the wheel well would rub...
How much of an updgrade on tire size could I go?
    ELI5.

All stock Tacomas can take up to a 265/75/16 with no issues as far as I know. (that's what comes on the TRD OR and PROs) (the base models with low suspension might be different) Rubbing will happen with anything bigger then a 265. 255/85r16 seem to fit for most with a mild lift. 285s take trimming, CMC, pinch weld fold, and probably some new UCAs with a lift. Your rear wheels are always going to look small in the wheel wells, front is where all the issues happen when you get to full lock and tuck off road

It’s the front that poses the problem, as it turns while articulating.

    Here's one.
    21' Off-road
    Stock everything.
    Eyeballing the 255/85/16 KM3's paired with a method wheel of 16x8 +0

It looks like it will clear my UCA's, provides 4.5" of backspacing but is 1.25" closer to the inner fender well. I also see that it sticks out .78" further than stock.
I've done my research, but it seems that these fitments can work for some and not others so I was seeing if anyone was running this specific combo.

On paper it looks like it might fit, albeit with possible plastic trimming and small rubs at full tilt. Can anyone school me?

    Thanks in advance.

Follow up ... what if I were to add a 1" spacer?
Does that have any effect on rubbing at all?

Actually makes it worse, as the farther the tire is from the center of the steering arc, the more space is needed to swing the tire when turning. Spacers only work if the back spacing is too small and the inner side wall rubs against the top of the spindle.

Thats what I am looking at. I might need to get at least a 1 inch spacer to clear the UCAs. I have my stock rims and tires still so before I sell those I think I'll get my TRD rims wrapped with the bigger tires and see what I'll need to make 285s fit. I am still very much on the fence if I want 285s or 255s. Fatter tires is always nice but MPG and other issues makes me think 255 would be better for now.

That might be a problem for me if I get 285s so spacers might work. Or just pizza cutters.

So it sounds, regardless of spacer or not... the Widest tire I can get is a 275 (up from my 245 stocks), which on my searching here, has an effect on MPG. Is that noticable?, like how many MPGs are we talking here? (ill keep searching)

Now my second understanding is that I cannot even to up to an 85 even with a 255?. So 75 is my max.

My first choice here was the Toyo Open Country AT III 265 /75 R16 116T SL OWL.

Looks beefier than these stock shoes... which I think are rated at 50k miles and I am barely at 35k and they are worn out.

Hell... I dont know what I am doing here....

I am having 255/85R16's installed on my truck today. Downsizing from a 285/75R16.

    I'm already regeared to 5.29.

It doesn't seem like there are many people running the 255/85R16 + 5.29 combo?

That's a lot of gearing for a 33. I am not sure you will be happy with that. I ran 255/85-16s on my 2nd gen with stock 3.73 gears. the gearing was a little long, but 5.29 seems like it would be overkill. If it sucks you could always sell the tires. good luck

Looking around on the forums and talking directly to different guys it seems like it depends on what 33s you are talking about. Seems like 5:29s would be a bit much for 255/85s, but almost every guy I talked to that had 285/75s are running 5:29s and are super happy with them, especially the guys like me who are or will be loaded or towing a lot.

Granted yes, there is a big diff between 33.1s and 33.8s but the guys with 285s seem to be real happy. Generally they are at 2550 or so in 6th.

I agree, I had full armor, so the truck was very heavy, I did want to regear after adding all of the weight, but ended up selling after the frame was replaced.
