How high of a lift are you running and what is your caster set at? The tire size looks so good on the truck.

    Nice truck!

After having them for awhile now, have you had any issues with the air intake on the passenger side under the wheel well liners?

Another member mentioned having to run a snorkel, but he was on 17x8.5” with I believe 4.30” bs.

I have seen everyone putting 285/70R17 on Tacos, they look good but i am leaning more on pizza cutters. Mickey Thompsons 255/85R17 is what i am looking at. I am going to install a 3 inch lift by Bilstein with Bilstein B8 upper control arms.I hope they dont rub and i dont need to do anything else to avoid rubbing.Screenshot_20230803_083649_Chrome.jpg 20220923_122017_HDR.jpg Screenshot_20230803_083649_Chrome.jpg 20220923_122017_HDR.jpg

Are you aware that 285/70r17 is a 33" and 255/85r17 is a 35" tire and you will rub like crazy if you do nothing but lift 3 inches?

Edit; it sounds like you're wanting 255/80R17 which is a 33 and will not rub, even without a lift if you have the right oem wheels

Silverlogic, I am still making sure to get everything right. Option 1 is the 285/70R17 and option 2 is the 255/85R17. If i can get away with a 34 cool, if not perhaps I will try option one or a 255/80R17 a 33. Still got time to decide.

Mickey Thompson Baja Boss At is the only tire I know currently offered in 255/85R17 and they measure to 34.6 and are advertised as a 35.

That said, you'd probably still rub with "option 1" if you don't trim any plastic or get a Cmc done.

If you run the MT 255/85R17s with that setup, they will rub really bad at the cab mount and rear fender liner. The problem with your setup for this tire size is the UCA you plan on running. It will move the tire back to far, probably to far back even with a CMC. Also, if you run them with the stock +20 wheels, they will probably rub on the UCA.

If you look at post 21 and 50, I detail what I did to clear them. You need adjustable UCAs in order to run the LCA as far forward as possible. I had them clearing with +11 wheels, but was only able to get about 2 deg castor. I got a CMC and that got me enough room to get 3 deg of castor.

    Hope this helps.

    According to the manufacturer, it's a 35.

Alignment time, mine just rubbed on the UCAs this weekend after some light off roading. Hoping to get the caster pushed up to 3.5, may add spacers if the alignment doesn’t help.
I’m long overdue for an alignment anyway.

Have Falkin Wildpeaks in 255/80R17, but I have enough space to confidently go 255/85 with that style tire, on the stock suspension. But with lifts you drag the tire closer to the UCA. So less offset might be required. But definitely getting into the possibly need some trimming territory.

Had to get 17" Sparco rims, was the only ones I could find on tire rack that were 7.5" which have a -24 offset (stock TRD offroad is 7.5" with -25 offset). They don't have any 7" options to bundle with. No trimming of any kind, and if it is rubbing the UCA, I don't feel or hear any when against steering lock.

I am on E rated 255/80/17 wild peaks. Yes I know they are different but I run about 30-35 psi cold. No issues over the last two years.

Can you run these 255/85/17’s on a 17x8.5? Mickey Thompson says for rims up to 8.0. But i hear some saying theyre running them on 8.5’s
