Just hit 25k last week in my 2019 trd DCOR MT. Bought November 26th 2018. (And I don’t even daily drive it). So far it’s been a great truck. Only issue I’ve had was with the cruise control radar, and there is a recall to fix that. I’m just to busy to take it back in to the dealer for 2 hours. (Yes my dealer is that slow). Anyway, seems like all I read is negativity of the 3rd gen. Figured I’d post some love. Just got back from a 1800 mile trip with no hick ups. Packed to the max with gear, runnin 80 on the highway, I averaged about 18mpg on the interstate. I kept it off the interstate for a whole tank and it got 21. My truck definitely doesn’t like higher speeds due to the low gearing I assume. Anyway, love the truck; and can’t wait to drive it 25 more years!

Picture from the night I brought her home in east Tn, to a picture of a sunset in Iowa this weekend.

Good to hear! I've had my SR5 2wd 4dr long bed for a bit over a month and have 2,000 miles on it. I am very happy with it and everything about it. It's been hitting 23.4 mpg too.

Awesome report... I’ve been off this forum for 60+ days, and all of a sudden my truck has returned to normal and an excellent machine again. Back to loving my truck... go figure, hahaha..!

Bro every car/truck has issues, enjoy the heck out of it. Jeep guys repair their wranglers once a month and they are die hard fans. My rubicon was a nightmare and compared to that, my tacoma is a dream. Lol. Btw I love your tan taco

    50k check in
Changed all the fluids ( front, rear differential, trans, and transfer case) at 30k so far, she’s gettin better and better the more miles she gets. Power curve still sucks, maybe one day OV will sponsor me, until then, petal to the rug . 22E4D9AD-5531-4680-97E2-6C4F8E228D84.jpg

I agree. This is gonna turn into a thread of the life of the truck. So I hope anyway.

Thanks for the positive post. I get tired of the cry babies post, like 5 things I don't like about my truck.

Mine is a 2020 with 20k and it just gets better with every mile. Faster, more quiet and smoother.

    Love it!

Re : power curve sucks. Check out the throttle controllers. It takes that lag out, makes throttle response right there when u need it instantly. I put the 70$ chines version on my 2.7 that was slowed down from lift and added weight. It has helped it and improved drivability

Cool pics. My experience tracks yours regarding higher speeds = less fuel economy.

He would have told you to never get in the 3rd in the first place. Just finish paying it at this point. You're probably ahead depreciation now anyway.
