See if they would have a 22 you could trade for at closer to 25,500-26000. If you could do it, I like my 21 far better than my '16 or '19 I had.

Looks like they're offering low trade numbers just to see who bites... could likely get $27000ish if it's in good shape.

I’m kinda with the others, I think these days it’s a good deal if you can get the same amount or more than what you originally paid. If you’re considering trading it in, check with some other dealers. You’ll probably get someone to buy it for the same price you paid when it was new.

I’ve had several friends trade in their new-ish cars over the last year and get more than they paid for it originally.

I got $24k trade for my ‘13 at the Lexus dealer. I paid $29k for in 2015. Seems like you could get more

I think it is all about inventory right now. If you are at all considering a change it might be worth your time to discuss with someone at the dealership. It could just be a win win.

The used car market is crazy right now. When I put down my deposit on an incoming SR5 Double Cab 2WD I asked the SA if they had any used vehicles to look at. He said sure, but you won't like the prices, non-negotiable. He showed me 4 they had on the lot. One was a 2017 SR5 Double Cab 2WD with about 60K miles, and it was selling for the same price as the new one I put a deposit on. The other used trucks were even worse. Stopped by three days later, all the used trucks had sold.

My Acura dealer sends me an email every week offering 110% of the market value for my wife's 2019 RDX. They just can't keep enough inventory on their lot.

Not much for me it was just several quirks, the 16 was over a qt low of trans fluid it was one of the colder winters that yr and it never really shifted right after it was discovered. The 19 had 2 different constant buzzing/rattles the dealer acknowledged but couldn't find so there was an open service note for when it was brought in a different set of eyes would be on it, with no luck. Also it couldn't get more than 16mpg the 16 was close to 19-21average. My 21 has been almost flawless back to the 19-21 milage, quiet, everything I expected from the beginning of owning a 3rd gen. The only thing I would like is better low end performance, a tune could due that is do it myself. Otherwise I'm driving 1000 miles for that.

I will be bringing in my '18 Inferno in a month or two for its 25k service... Wonder if I'll get similar treatment.

The dealership we bought our ‘17 4runner Limited 4x4 from has called me just about every month since last summer trying to buy it back. He said they especially want it because it’s Blizzard Pearl. They offered me $2K less than what we paid for it brand new 5 years ago (with 48K miles on it now). That is totally nuts… that means they’d be re-selling used for more than they originally sold it for new! But it’s paid off and the new ‘22s don’t have anything that would be worth taking on a new car payment for (pretty much just blind spot monitors and TSS). So I told em we’re definitely keeping it. Then he started on my ‘21 Tacoma and he said they could probably give me about what I paid for it a year and a half ago (with 12K miles on it now). But again, I said there’s nothing a ‘22 has that mine doesn’t (not to mention they discontinued cement), so I told him there’s nothing to gain for me… I’d just be paying tax and tags again and have to buy a new camper shell again. No thanks.

    Oh look, another mod....
This. I'm tired of people saying "Oh man, I got offered xxx dollars for my truck, that's more than I paid for it 7 years ago!" Well, that $30k you spent in 2016 is equal to just over $35k today.

    https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/

The OP paid $7k more than the $25k offer, meaning he paid roughly $32k in 2016:

    upload_2022-3-30_8-52-53.jpg

In today's market, you paid $37k for an SR5 4x4. Not bad, but not great. If the dealer is offering you $25k that's $12k off the adjusted MSRP. They factor in depreciation then add in a kicker because of the crazy market we're in.

It's not a great offer, but it certainly isn't a bad one.
