will 265/70/16 work on my truck without rubbing or causing damage? I currently hold 4x4 DC no TRD package. I have 245/70/16 now.

265/75/16 is the largest you can stuff under an unmodified tacoma of 2005+ model year

Yes, 265X70R-16 is a perfect fit. I upgraded to that size on my truck. Even your speedodmeter will read correctly.

265/70R16 is stock sized and your speedo will still have a discrepancy. You'd need to jump to 265/75R16 to fix the speedo but that makes your ODO read low.

OP, I'm assuming your truck has 245/75R16, 265/70R16 will fit fine, speedo and ODO will still read the same.

The bigger tire won't cause any issues associated with lifting will they? Like cv boots getting worn or needing a diff drop etc...?

no, 245/75/16s are the same diameter as 265/70/16s (should be around 30.5 inches depending on the tread). 265/75/16s are around 31/31.5 inches depending on tread. So even if you go with a tire that has a 31.5 inch diameter you are only lifting the truck .5 inches at the very max.

    Nick M,

Toyota actually offers the 265X70R-16 on some models of Tacoma and it is considered an optional size. You will have no problem. No need to worry about CV, diff drop or anything.

Choose a good tire. I expect that your truck came with Dunlop GranTrek. They are about the worst tire made, so anything you choose will make your truck ride, steer and handle much better.

My Dunlops scared the crap out of me each time I drove. I no longer have to change underwear after each trip. I took them off at 1300 miles and replaced them with Michelin LTX M/S2s 265X70R-16.

No, you can go taller if you go skinnier.
