Hello! Just put 265/70/r17 Open Country AT3s on RockTrix wheels that have a -12 offset. Fully stock 2017 TRDOR suspension. Rubs pretty bad when turning, both left and right. Fully locking the wheels when parked I appear to have pretty much zero room between the tire and wheel well. Would strongly prefer not to cut much of anything.Would an alignment possibly fix this issue?

-12 offset increases the scrubbing radius, don’t think an alignment will help much. Gotta do a bunch of trimming.:)

Spacers would make it even worse by increasing the scrubbing radius. The more the wheel sticks out, the more it will rub.

Gotcha. So everyone saying I should be good to go before I bought this setup was a bunch of liars. Sick.

Where is your rubbing? Every truck is slightly different, so it’s not that anyone tried to mislead you. The same exact setup may rub on one truck but not another. If you have rubbing at the back of the wheel well and plenty of space at the front, or the other way around, it’s possible that it could be corrected with an alignment. You need to know what your asking for and a shop that will take the time to work with you though. The big box tire shops likely won’t be much help. Try to find a shop that does some 4x4 work.

It's just the wheel offset that makes it not fit. I was in the same boat after seeing everybody say you could fit that size with no lift lol. I still rubbed a little even after lifting 1.5"~. Eventually I just put on 285, did the CMC and trimmed a little plastic. Pretty solid now.

From what I can tell I am rubbing at the back of the wheel wells. I’ll try and get some pictures tomorrow and see if that helps explain things better.

Before you cut anything, take it to an alignment shop and tell them to max out the caster, and set the camber and toe at 0°.

This is my plan as of now. A 4x4 shop would be a better option that the dealership on this one right?

and make sure to get spc uca.

dont get just any UCA that are high caster. they will push the tire more into the cab mount and you will rub even more.

I lucked out and had a tech at my dealership who was very helpful and knowledgeable about alignments. If you have a reputable 4x4 shop locally, I’d start there. Just for reference, I have about 1 1/2” of lift up front. 275/70/17 tires on -12 offset wheels. My rubbing was very minor at the front of the fender. So minor that I didn’t bother trimming anything for a few months. I’m willing to bet your rubbing can be fixed with an alignment. It won’t be within factory recommendations but that’s not a big deal.

I had 265/70/17 on -10 wheels and I rubbed even after trimming. Had to do a CMC to fix it. Then I went up to 285s and I'm back to rubbing.

People tent to use the word "rub" loosely.
Some say 0 rub, but what they actually mean is 0 rub on structural, metal components such as control arms, coilovers, body mounts, but they will rub the crap out of the plastic fenders at full lock turn on an incline.

Every vehicle is different, alignment, lift, wheel offset, rim width, tire size and stock vs aftermarket UPC - all play a role in clearing different tires. What works for one might not work for another person's truck. Doesn't make them liars, just have to understand that it is a balancing act with all of those variables.

If you are rubbing on the front then there is an inner fender mod, or trim, or heat up and mold the inner the fender.
If you are rubbing on the cab, take the mudflaps off, have an alignment person move the wheels forward a little, or a CMC.
