    Hey all-

Been doing some forest road driving lately to get to campsites. Looking to upgrade stock Wranglers. Some of these roads are pretty rough. Anyone have experience with moderate off-roading any of the few C-Load 16 inch tires?

    thanks!

I've got C load Duratracs in that size and haven't had a thing to complain about

Nothing too gnarly with this set yet but ran the same on an old FJ that I really beat to hell, was impressed enough to run them again on the Taco

Same here with load c duratracs. They hum a bit, but man do they shine off the road! They will get you damn near anywhere and the treadwear is great. I’m glad I spent the money and passed on the Falken AT3W

C rated tires don't offer you much over P rated tires. In the same size they are actually rated to carry less weight than factory P series tires. They are really intended for lightweight SUV's like Jeep Wranglers that don't carry any weight other than passengers.

There are no downsides to just going with an E rated tire, especially if you want a tougher tire for rough roads and off road use.

Been running 265/75/16 Load Range C since June 2011 (a month after buying my truck new). Tires are durable off-road and are pretty quiet on highway. Run them on a lot on forest/logging roads here in Maine. I've only had one puncture and it was in the tread from a very pointed triangular shaped rock...would have punctured most tires. Never had a sidewall puncture/tear.

I've run 2 sets of Toyo Open Country AT2 and now Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT. Will run the Coopers again.

Generally deeper tread than the P rated equivalent.

I average about 15K miles per year and therefore get new tires every 3 years (around September). 45K is acceptable to me. I could probably squeeze more out of them, but I don't want to be going into hunting season and winter with not enough tread depth.

I've always been able to sell my tires on CL for about $100.
