Can I fit 265/75/16 on a stock 01 Tacoma trd. Or do I need a lift

I ran a 265/75/16 for years with no lift. Mild rubbing on the frame at full lock to the left and hitting a bump. Never had an issue.

You could probably "fit" 33's on... The amount of lift you "need" depends on how much rub you're okay with.

I run BFG A/T 265/75's on my 04 DC 4x4 TRD. At stock height it rubbed a bit at full lock in the parking lot (just enough to wear the paint down on the frame). Now I've got 5100's on the middle setting (about an inch lift I think), and it will still occasionally rub, but FAR less than it did at stock height.

I had BFG KO 265/75r16 that would rub near full lock. Now i have Cooper AT3 LT265/70R17 that do no rub even at full lock.

    None so far.
I was able to fit 265/70R/16 on a 97 Tacoma without rubbing. Running Cooper AT3's like CaliTaco007.

My 265/75 rubbed on the frame at full lock with no lift and factory wheels.

Just installed my lift, and looks like I won't have any run unless at full stuff, 33's and more back spacing next

Minor rubbing. Throw 'em on there.
