265/75 R 16 or 265/70 R 16

For those that have used one or both of these tire sizes, which is your preference and why? I will be getting all terrains but am not dead set on a size.

It will be for my stock height SR5. No plans for a lift in the near future.

 

265/75 will have a bit more meat, thus providing a slightly more comfortable ride on the road. though I can't image the difference will be significant or even noticeable to any but the most scrutinizing critics.

i would go 75 because I think the proportions look better, but a 70 tire will be less weight and help your MPG. again, don't think it'd be that significant.

I love my 265/75r16s

 

No reason to not go with 75
They fit, they look great, barely dinged my mpg at all

 

Some do, some don't. Run ST Maxx in 265/75R16 on a stock 2nd gen and you'll have all the rubbing you can bear.

I have 265/75R16 Maxx on my 2.5" lifted truck and depending on alignment, still rub.

 

do you have offset wheels?

 

Admittedly, yes. About .5in out from oem. OP didn't say whether they were staying on OEM wheels, but its something to consider.

 

Yes. I will be using the stock wheels.

 

I went to the 75's on factory wheels. Look much better IMHO. Everything else such as MPG and ride are negligible.

I love my 265/75s. Add more ride height and just look better IMO

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 265/75/16 tires on a completely stock 2017 TRDOR. I really like how they fill out the wheel wells, and I'm genuinely surprised by how quiet they are. Zero rubbing for daily use. Granted, haven't had the chance to get all flexy with it yet to check for rubbing offroad.

 

I am looking at the Falcon Wildpeaks

 

The Wildpeak in 265/75R16 on stock wheels fits fine and doesn't affect your fuel usage much. I think it's like 2lbs per corner heavier than stock. Get the SL instead of LT-E.

SL wildpeaks are a good choice if you dont plan on offroading much otherwise u might want to look at c load duratracs

 

What fuel economy are you getting compared to stock?

 

I must be the only crazy one on the whole bird that just doesn’t do bigger tires. My 21 has the 265/70, but I’ll most likely go to the 245/75 when it’s time for tires.
