Aside from the obvious width difference,

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Warden and Warden 2?

Warden 2 only comes in load range E. Is that too stiff for our light weight trucks? the 265 comes in load D.

I run the original Wardens in a load range E, had them for about 24,000 miles. They have been great, I like the heavier load range personally, not too stiff for me. Depends on how you use your truck, I run a lot of dirt roads and carry a lot of gear, so like the additional protection and load carrying capabilities

I run the 235x85x16 warden II on my truck. Not sure of the difference but I really like the tire. I have about 20k on them now and I'm very happy. I went to Alaska from PA this summer on them and didn't mind the 10ply tire at all. image.jpg

resurrecting an older thread here but does anyone know how much the warden 2 in 235/85/16 weighs? I have a crazy good deal lined up with treadwright, know that I want an E rated tire, but would like to know how much it weighs since my truck is a 4cyl. Ive looked everywhere on their website and have yet to find a weight. Im assuming that they will be a bit heavier since they are remolded but would like a number!

also...you guys still liking the tires? any issues with them so far?

The fed ex packaging said 55lbs when mine arrived.they are heavy but they are a great tire. I have almost 55k on mine. The only reason I’m not getting them again is because I want a 255/85/16.

I’ve emailed and asked them before too with not answer. They are heavy, but still a good tire. I plan to put them on my 4Runner when the time comes.

Not sure of the weight in that size, but the 265/75/16 Wardens I had were about 56 each I believe.. I swapped them out after about 20k on them (had about another 15k tread life left) and went with the Claw mud terrains.. those are pretty heavy, around 65 per tire. I love them! Though I got the kedge grip and probably won’t do that again as they definitely are wearing more than w/o.. plus they are mud terrains.. so far I have about 15k on the Claws and they are at about 9/32nds currently. They hum like a mofo, but handle amazing in all conditions! Will keep going with Treadwrights from here on out.. good luck!

thanks for the input! did you have any balancing issues at all?
those are fairly heavy tires...did you notice a significant drop in mpg's?

I have a 4cyl, thats why im weight conscious...and thats why im going with the skinnier tires...not as much power as you v6 guys:)

I had the dealer install them, didn’t report any issues with balancing.. they are heavy and did drop mpg’s, not significantly but a bit for sure..
