I sold my Goodyear Wrangler 265/70-16 takeoffs with zero miles for $450 via Facebook market place in two days.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing with my Goodyear 265/70s. They are nice and were not worn down, but the 75 ATs look SO MUCH BETTER and fill up the wheel well too!! Trust me, you will be much happier with the 265/75s, especially if they are all terrains.Screenshot_20210108-161851_Gallery.jpg

Yes the Coopers are SL rated, yes they do have the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol. They are excellent in snow and rain. If I put a camper or tons of gear on this thing I’ll consider the heavier tires. I read a lot of negative reviews on the KO2s in rain, and that they don’t really wear well. That’s why I decided to go with the Coopers. Also they’re made in the USA, can’t go wrong with that. I found a local tire shop that was very helpful and had an obviously much better selection than the dealer tire shop.

Thank you so much. Never owned Cooper tires, thus was hesitant. After reading your post - really intrigued to get them.

I sold 4 tires (3 of the same Michelin’s and the old spare Toyo a31) and they had 45,xxx miles and got $150 for all four in a day off FB marketplace.

You won’t regret going up in size, I love the look and feel of bigger tires. If I were you I would I go with 265/75r16, biggest size you can fit on stock suspension with zero rub.

My understanding is that you can fit 255/85/16 which is a 33 on stock suspension and wheels. But tire section is very slim

I just don't want to have rubbing. I will be towing a small camper under 2000 pounds too so I surely don't want to do too big to mess that up or kill mpg to much for daily driving.
From what I understand 265/75 16 will be fine. Am I correct?
You guys are really talking me in to it. If i can get $175 - 250 for those 4 stock tires that would off set the cost enough and yes they will be ATs

That will be contingent on weight, rolling resistance and gearing implications from a larger diameter tire.

Two of those variables are easier to control than the gearing change by upsizing with a 265/75-16.

I don't carry really much at all to daily drive. So weight won't change. The tires I was looking at were 31.5" diameter and 37.8 pound each. Those are SL load rated not LT tires with E rating which are heavier and would cost me more mpg for sure. That's about 5 pound each more than the stock tires.
Not sure about getting in to regearing yet either.

If I'm not mistaken the tires you are looking at are only 2.8 lbs more per tire than the stock 265/70 Goodyear Wranglers.

    Seems like a good selection.

    Which tires are they?

The gearing changes I was referring to were the result of a larger diameter tire than stock, not actually changing the internal gearing ratios in the diffs.

This is what the tire shop suggested. And I had asked at a few places around town about this larger than stock size and was told no we can't sell that and mount it at most of the chain tire places that sell more branded names. Any way I had 2 sets these Hercules Terra Trac in the original version on my last suv and was happy with them. They look much like the Hancook's dynapro at-m and Cooper's one tire.

Yeah they come with a 245 all season tire. The SR does to. They usually have toyo open country A31 or Firestone Destination LE.

I was doing that too, my 245s still had some tread and I thought I'd get another year, but then I went out during the first snow we had and woah, it was terrible. It's great now with the Wildpeak 265s.

Rubbed on mud flaps while off roading but never on the streets. Took mud flaps off and now have zero rub.

When it comes time, I install bigger tires, I'll design custom mud flaps.

    My way will be...
No mud flaps = No bigger tires.
    It's a location/weather thing
