So whats the consensus on these and them rubbing during medium offroading with stock suspension and no lift? I am thinking about pulling the trigger on these but want to know if anyone has done any offroading with them and had any rubbing issues.

I'm running 265/70R17, which is the same size. I did a bit of off-roading, and the tires never rub.

No rub at all on mine... Toyota is not going to put that production size tire on and have it rub... if the end user decides to up size then thats when you may see issues.

The stock tire size on the Trd OR is 265/70 R 16, 265/75 R 16 is about an inch taller then the stock tires depending on the tire brand.

With KO2 265/75R16's I have about 1/16" clearance up front with full stuff on the stock suspension and 16" NV Methods, but no rubbing.

If we counted the 265/75r16 question in every thread I'd say @0uTkAsT won. If we counted it in only the original tire thread I'd say I won. Must be a draw.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Just got back from from a trip with other TW members. No rub, perfect size to upgrade with no mods needed to do so.

You should compare tire weights, keep it light unless you wheel a lot and then you should not care.

    265/75/16 Wildpeak AT3s
Mine are E rated, which I do Not recommend unless you wheel hard, load the back and pull a trailer like me.

FYI - the wildpeaks did well Offroad, get in the mud with some weight and you wish you had KO2s or obviously a mud terrain. Got got several tires on different rigs. As you can see from the trailer pics, I was slingn’ some mud with RPMs to get they some stuff ;)

I would like to see if it has more to do with the rim (i.e. width and offset) versus the tires size

Your correct about the rim offset.
The width of a tire will always present more of a running issue than height.
The offset of aftermarket puts your wheels out further, this changing how the tire stuffs into the wheel well.
Hence people rolling the ‘pizza cutter’ size 255/85/16. Skinny 33” but will fit cause the width isn’t there.
