I'm trying to decide to keep the stock tire size or up size to 265/75/R16. My suspension is stock height. The question I have that I haven't seen answered before is, does anyone have experience running snow chains on the back with a stock height but slightly larger tire? Is it possible, any rubbing? I plan on keeping the factory mud flaps because I like my paint.

    Thanks for the help.

You'll be fine so long as you keep 'em tight. I'm running LT235/85R16s, so very slightly larger overall diameter, stock suspension other than ride-rite air bags, and no issues with heavy duty rear chains. Mud flaps still on too.

Thanks for the info landphil. Also nice to hear about the flaps.

Any others with experience using snow chains with 265/75R16 and stock suspension?

You should be okay but it may depend on the type of chain you have and how well they fit. If you scroll to the bottom of this link it shows that some of the chains made by Peerless require almost 2" at the tread face and 1" at the sidewall. Others require significantly less than that. Just get down and run your hand around the tire and see what you have to work with.
