We've only taken this one on one trip, but so far we've been really happy with the Overland Pros Wraptor 4K. It appears to be very similar to a few other brands, and likely is. It is a free-standing awning, but the two built in poles take nothing to drop down. We had one windy night in Southern Utah and the awning did fine. We had the legs down, but never ran the guy lines. Additional poles and bunch of guy lines were also included. They have a larger one which has an arm that swings forward, but I didn't feel that was needed. We never found ourselves looking for more shade/protection with this one.

Yes, appears to be mostly aluminum frame construction. Still weighs all of 60lbs though. The included mounting brackets are made of steel. 3rd picture is at Powell Lake in Utah.

Yeah, ALWAYS stake down your awning. You never know when bad weather will creep in and the next thing you know you have a broken awning, broken roof rack, or broken truck cap. I almost learned this the very hard way. (Got super lucky.)

Anyways, here's the one I have. Might not be what you're looking for, but I think there are some good insights in my review to consider.
