Hey guys, I recently bought a 2014 OR with 3" level kit and 275/60R20's I don't like the look of a 20 inch wheel on a taco though so I'm going to swap them out. I don't rub at all right now either, would I rub if I put some 285/75R16's on? What offset and backspace would be the best for the new wheel? I plan on buying SCS stealth 6 wheels. Any help would be awesome! I don't want to buy the wheel first and find out the tire size I want will rub with the backspace and offset of the wheel.

I would contribute if I could, but I run 255/85/16, I have rubbing but then again it’s not lifted yet.

    Good luck and welcome!

There’s a conversion chart somewhere on here if you search for it, see it how much bigger it actually is.

The tire size calculator says those tires are almost the same, 0.39" wider & only 0.16" taller. Click on TW world home page, then scroll down to tire size calculator, it's really helpful.

Thanks for the info! I think they should work, just worried about the -25 offset and 3.5" backspace of the wheel I want. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how those 2 things work.

Those are gonna rub on your fender flares and probably the cab mount too. Some plastic trimming and a cab mount chop and you should be good to go

What would be a good offset and backspace for the new wheel? It would be less hassle to get a different wheel that would fit the tires better than to start cutting

Cab mount chop is typically reqd with 285s to prevent rubbing. But if you went with a 4.5" backspacing 0 offset wheel, it would likely rub a good bit less than if you threw on the 3.5" backspacing wheels

i still believe cab mount chop will be needed

3.5 back space is gonna put the tires past the fender flares. Unless you plan on running 35 or 37 inch tires I wouldn’t recommend going that aggressive. My experience is with 17 inch wheels, but I’ve tried a few with 285’s.

17x9, 0 offset, 5 backspace, 285/70/17 = plastic trimming, but no suspension rubbing

    17x8.5, -10, 4.25 backspace, 285/70/17 = same as above

    17x9, -12, 4.5 backspace, 295/70/17 (33.5) = cab mount chop/weld but no suspension rub.

YMMV, just giving you an idea of what “fits” with a 3 inch lift.
