    Thats what I've been told.... I split my time between AZ and Tennessee though. So they would be great for the mud in TN but suckish for the sand back home..

    no sweat, apology unnecessary. Just thought I'd clarify. I am running a Toyo 4 ply 285 currently and am actually quite enjoying the ride following the 265 6 ply BFG AT.

    I don't really wheel recreationally. I have had no trouble with them on decommissioned logging roads and bush trails that have slow rocky patches. If you are into crawling then I wouldn't recommend 4 ply. At least based upon the experience of the guys on TW.
