What about for 60+ hp?? I think it jumps from 239 to 304

 

Factory HP rating for the 4.0L is 236. TRD SC rates it at 305. Do the math. Like I said I'm very pleased with the power my truck produces now. It accellerates faster now WITH my larger tires AND my waverunner in tow than it did stock.

 

I hate you guys, I already really want a supercharger, and thats a killer deal. I've been shopping around. How long has this guy been selling these at this price? Wondering if I could just save longer and snag one at this price. A local dealer said they would only charge 650 for an install, and that they've done a lot over the years.

 

That's a good install price. I only agreed to pay more because of the level of service I get from my dealer, Sun Toyota in New Port Richey, FL

 

if I had a v6, what are the torque ratings and rpms? I never ever hit my hp when I'm driving so hp rating mean jack to me

 

It's more than that. Closer to 75. Plus if you get the APR X1 kit, your truck will really fly. So add another ~$1200 for that too.

 

And you can add URD's slightly smaller 2.85 pulley for a little more boost.

If I could get the funds, I would get the TRD SC, APR-X1, and the smaller pulley. Nom nom nom nom nom!!

 

If you read my previous posts I state that my truck accellerates better with larger tires and towing my Waverunner with the TRD SC vs. my completely stock (engine and tires) truck not towing. This requires more torque to accomplish.

236hp @ 5200rpm
266lb/ft @ 4000

TRD Supercharged 4.0L
304hp @ 5400
334lb/ft @ 3600

The increases in hp and tq are substantial and can certainly be felt driving the truck in any condition. Whether is it worth it...completely subjective but you won't get any noticeable gains from anything that doesn't cost serious coin.

Do we need a thread titled "Is a TRD SC worth the cost?" as most SC threads get off track by "worth it or not" type discussion.

 

There was one snagged before I bought mine so I sent the seller an ebay message about another one. He sent me a message a day or two later when he listed another one so I snagged it. Come to think of it, he was kind of a dick in every correspondance I had with him.

hope this is aroun when i need it, i drove an auto with the sc. let me tell ya what, numbers are numbers, but it pulls hard. you feel like you aer driving a fast vehicle, and it had no exhaust or intake at this point, just the sc. after headers, exhaust, intake, pulley, that thing will likely be at around 350 easy.
