275s with 2in lift. Will they look too small?

I'm going crazy trying to decide between 275s or 285s. I have 5100s and 887s I'm putting on next weekend I'm expecting 2 to 2.25 in of lift. I've looked a pics on here but have never seen a Tacoma with 275 and a 2in lift in person. I have planned on this setup for months but all of a sudden am worried that 275s will look too small. I've seen a few guys on here do 285s with a 2in lift but have wondered how much rubbing they run into. I also have a set of ray10s that will be going on. Advice would be appreciated.

Go 285s id doubt u would have any rubbing at all. Maybe off roading at lock or maybe on a decent at a lock u may rub on cab mount. My lift may be a bit closer to 2.75 or 3 being i have 886 coils but i have no rubbing what so ever. Running a 285/75/16

I went w 275, running OME 887 with AAL. Could have went 285, but I read so much about power loss, decided to go with 275. Either will look good and fit

I'm running 275s. Didn't want to trim and they look great, so no reason to go 285s. No regrets and I'd do it again

I am running 265 and they look great. I drive between Washington and AZ a couple times during the year and did not want a decrease in power and MPG.

Wow I'm surprised to hear so many ppl say 285 would fit. I don't do much off road at all maybe a logging road or field that's about it. I don't think I'm too awful worried about loss of power. I don't know if it will help with having a standard or not but I figured the different gearing in the rear end may help out.

    16s? 17s?
    65 series? 70 series? 75 series?
Metric or LT tires? Highway, all-terrain, mud-terrain...?

LTs usually have deeper tread when offered as both, so that could affect how they look.

If I had to get Ray 10s, I'd go with the 17s and 285/75/17 and worry about rubbing if/when it rubs, which is more than likely.

    My ideal rim/tire for a 2" lift would be, 17x7.5, ET+6, 4.5"BS with 285 70 17s.

Too big or to small is a subjective thing. Personally speaking I think 265's fit a 2" lift just fine as long as you go with a smaller rim. 16's or nothing, the only reason I say that is because the tires need to be nice and fat to fit the look well. Just my opinion on the matter.

+2 - I have 885s and 5100s and went 265-70-17 ... still plenty of tire and doesn't look too small either. Loud on a cement road.. like I can't hear what yer saying loud. But hey, gotta pay to play as they say.

275s with 2.5 inch lift. This is what it will look like.

285s with 2" lift will fit without rubbing only with aftermarket wheels with proper offset.
I had very little rubbing on the full lock when I put 265/70/17s duratracs. And I'm running 5100s at 0 with 887s and AAL in the back ( 2" lift all around).
I couldn't fit my fingers between the tire and UCAs. Installed 1.25" spidertrax and laughing now. I like the look and no los of mpg at all. The only thing is that duratracs are bit noisy but I can get used to it. Good luck!
