635B2EB8-FDBF-453B-9D4D-AFB4E2B4428C.jpg I just purchased a 1998 Tacoma Regular cab, 5 lug model. I’m planning on doing a mild lift (shackles in rear and spring spacers up front). The truck still had the original 14” wheels and hub caps, which I like and plan to keep on. Just wondering if anyone here has run this tire size before? I’m assuming I might need wheel spacers up front even with the lift. Thanks!

I went to 30x9.5 15s on mine, with a spindle lift and coil springs in the front, still stock rear but should be doing add a leaf this next week. It doesn’t rub too bad but just coil spacers might not give you enough depending on what you want

Appreciate the input guys. I just want it to sit slightly higher than stock, nothing crazy.

Can I piggyback here instead of opening a new thread on essentially the same topic?

I'm really close to pulling the trigger on a stone-stock 1998 2wd 2.4L 5-spd std cab 5-lug with ~130k mi. It's currently running some off-brand 195/75-14 highway touring tires on the stock steelies. Is there a chance the 27/8.5-14 Grabbers would fit with no rubbing without any lift or spacers at all?
I'm not planning any hard-core 4-wheeling, but my main use will be hauling the mountain bike to trails without gumming up the wife's fancy SUV, and I do sometimes take dirt, gravel and mud roads to get to the trails/parking/camping areas. Plus, I think it'll look worlds better with just a little more meat down there. Other uses will be small-truck stuff - hauling plywood/lumber, furniture, garden soil; crap weather when the convertible is no fun. That sort of thing.
Want to get some time with the truck before deciding on lift, 15's, or if I really want a 4x.
Your help is greatly appreciated! May be the deciding factor on choosing the vehicle.

    Answered my own question.
America’s Tire installed the 27x8.5 Grabber A/Tx’s on my stock, 14x5 steelies this morning. No lift, no trimming, no rubbing, no problem. Looks and drives a million times better.
