I am assuming the end you taped the diode to is the HU end.
Looking at the wiring diagrams from Hoandge and gpd
the #2 wire should remain connected except for the diode using this SPST switch.
I hate use the word assuming!
And what does HU mean? Sorry I'm an OFG.

Is there a harness like this for a 2011? I've always wanted to do the anytime camera. I know there is a write up how to do it at the mirror but want to have the switch on the dash.

Edit: I'm guessing not since they didn't have the bu camera in the hu, only in the mirror so I figure based on another thread that the camera wiring doesn't run behind the hu on my truck. But any input is appreciated.

I need a diode or I need to know which one to get and a picture showing which way the diode goes.

No diode needed if you use a SPDT switch. That's how I wired mine.

Edit: I used this switch from DigiKey: Click Me

Do u have a write up or a pic how it was wired? Also did you have to use a relay and what size?

Why would you use a relay? You're not powering anything. This is just signalling.

I didn't have a chance to write it up, I know @Hoangde has some good diagrams floating around, and also check through this and other threads.

Basically you tie the center of the SPDT to pin #2 going into the head unit. Then tie one side of the switch to the original input line and the other side of the switch to a 12VDC signal source. I used pin #1 going into the head unit. Don't pull power for a lighted switch from this, it's just a signal line to indicate the ignition is on.

NOTE: the above is for 3rd gen, I don't know if it works on 2nd gen

Harness is built, just waiting for decent weather to tear into the dash.

Awesome service, BTW. I ordered it in the later afternoon, it was in the mail the next am and I had it after only a couple of days. This is an awesome way to get the mods done without having to tear into the factory harness. Thanks!!

Do the switches on page 1 include the pigtail harness? (not the main harness)

The pigtail with the switch plug is included. Did you get one without the green plug?

Nope, just about to order. I ordered the harness from you a few months back, and you posted the switches for sale a few days later. Just making sure i don't have to source the pigtails separately.
