just curious if anyone out there has moved from stock Tacoma tires (265 70 16) to bigger tires (285 70 16) without out leveling kit or lift.

Just want to make sure they wont rub or anything before I throw down 700$ in tires! thank you!

According to the tire size calculator chart, the 285/70/16 will be only 1 1/10" (1.10") taller & 3/4" (0.79") wider than your 265/70/16. I haven't tried them but wouldn't think that small of difference could cause any problems.

285s on stock wheels will rub UCAs and possibly cab mounts, pinch weld, etc.

Thay would move you further away from the uca but you’d probably still rub elsewhere.

edit to add: also a 285 is 11.22 inches wide. I’d also look at a wider wheel for that.
