Yes- wheel offset will be a factor here too.

My definition of rubbing is very different than your definition. I want no rub through full articulation of compression of the suspension. Than again I bought this truck to off road and limiting the drivability of any vehicle by tire size isnt ideal.

But in all seriousness I would double check UCA rubbing on full turns than I would remember its a truck so when you load it down it could see quite a bit more rubbing than normal driving.

To all the fellas out there with the 3rd gen taco running on 285/70/17....really looks bad ass!! A couple of questions for you guys. How are you guys liking the bigger set up than the stock tires? How does it ride and how much power loss? Do you need to regear? New to this forum and just bought a brand new 2017 dbe cab 4x4 off road with LB and can't decide what size tire. Looking at 265 70 17, 275 70 17, and 285 70 17. Thank you.

So what is the largest tire one can run with about 2 inches of lift with NO rubbing?

I have a 3 inch Boss lift, new UCAs, and 285/70 17 with factory TRD Pro 4Runner rims. Its an automatic, so it kinda ran like ass before the lift. The tranny sucks. My MPGs went way down. I have not re-calibrated but it dropped by 4. I so it is probably more like 3.
It rubs on sharp turns sometimes. I may try a 1 inch body lift and wheel spacers as soon as I clean the garage.

As big as you want just depends how much trimming you want to do.

IMG_8147.jpg Here's my 16 sport 4x4 with 3 inches UCAs and 275/70-17 ko2s I don't see any way I could have fit 285/70-17 without trimming and cab mount chop. I have not rubbed once since removing OEM flaps and have taken this truck up hells revenge and to top of the world and maxed out the suspension quite a few times. Hope this helps. I would have loved to do 285s but for me it wasn't worth the headache.

im currently running STT Pros 265/70/17 mounted on Ray 10s on my 2017 TRD-offroad (stock height). It does rub on full lock, especially if i hit a bump

Don't mean to thread jack but I was just about to ask a question about tires. I'm honestly really curious as to why the Goodyear wrangler tires that came with the pro are so light weight. I've looked at a bunch of tires on tire rack, all the same size and even the highway all seasons are heavier.

Only reason I ask is because I was considering k02s and they are more than 10Lb heavier per tire in the same size.

I cant speak for the other tires only the STT Pros that i have. The STT PROs (MT) sidewall are much thicker (3ply) and the threads are deep and beefy.
