Use the tire calculator to get a sense of the gearing impact you will make.

Consider what function you are trying to accomplish. Are big tires gonna fix a problem? Or create some?

    Are you a patient man?

You're probably not gonna wanna do that size with a 4cylinder.

I run SCS F5's (16") with Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws in 265/70R16 and it's tolerable because I shaved weight at every possible opportunity. F5's are some of the lightest 16's on the market, and the Falkens are reasonably light for an A/T tire at "only" 42 pounds. I've only added a few pounds per corner, but you feel it.

Even though 4 bangers DO actually have 4.3 gears, you don't want to soak up too much power in spinning heavy wheels.

Honestly I'm thinking about getting another set of light alloys and a set of lighter street-only / all-weather tires someday, to run when I'm doing strictly highway.

I might just try going stock size with an AT with hopes to not loose to much power, I can't afford to loose more in the Hill over here. Im sure with a softer tire she'll slow down but hopefully not dramatically. Thoughts on a stock sized AT or Snowtire?

I am running 265/75r16 Falken Wildpeak at3w. Contrary to the post above the 2016 4 bangers only have 3.909 gears.

How do you like the Falkens? did you regear? If not did you notice a major difference?

I guess I should clarify. I have an auto 4 banger. Those do indeed get 4.3's, while the manuals get 3.9's.

It is definately a noticable difference. I really want 255/85r16 but I will not do it until I regear. It is harder to keep the truck in 5th on the highway. I have to downshift to 4 at even the slightest grade.

    This is correct. My bad.

    See my last post. #17

The falkens have been great so far. Took some chunks out of the sidewall wheeling but i think it would have happened to any tire.

What's the load rating on your tires? P, C, E?
