Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
Took the words right out of my mouth, yes inquiring minds want to know?

I went with the 5100s on the top setting and a one inch rear block. It has an almost leveled look at times but then sometimes it looks to have a slight rake. I run 285/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT3s on 4Runner SEMA wheels. No rubbing or cutting, just a good alignment. I did open the hole up some of the factory mud guards bottom bolt hole and moved the guards back about 3/4 of an inch for even more clearance. I started on the 4th notch about 4 years back and ran 265s, after installing the 285's I wanted more lift up front. Rides great, performs great on the KDMAX Pro tune and a inline Hypertech speedometer calibration. I still average 18 to 19 around town and some interstate driving. I did a 3 hour round trip last week and it was long back roads and was hitting about 23 mpg. I really didn't notice a power loss or mpgs drop when going up to 285s. The key is a light SL rated tire and the OEM light 4runner SEMA wheels keeps the rotating mass to a minimum.

    Good info guys, thanks.
Maybe I am wrong about the 2.75" up front on the 5100's. You're saying the top setting is 2"?
That's what the off road shop guy told me. I'll double check.
VaToy that's great MPG! I'm guessing the Tune helps a lot. But good info on the light tires and wheels.
    Thanks

I have no regrets whatsoever, I've previously had a 2001 Tundra on 35's, Jeep TJ's on 35's and this thing is far more comfortable to drive everyday. I'm running Method 705's Bead Grips with a 0 offset. I removed the mud flaps, and trimmed a little bit of the plastic along the edge. Even after a good alignment I would get a small amount of rub on the plastic edges in a partial turn.

Later today I'm going to drive 3 hours to load up a 500lb motorcycle into this truck and haul it back to the house from the dealership where it has been having some warranty work done. I would drive this truck hauling sleds behind it cross country without question. No tune, I just press the ECS button and it drives fantastic.

    Method Bead Grip 705's with a 0-Offset.

Wheeling with some flex, aired down to 15 PSI, without disconnecting the front sway bar.

    Hey VaToy,
Do you have any side on pics of your old set up which I think you said was 2"front/1"rear w/ 265/75/16?
    Thanks

Here's a better shot of my truck with the 2" spacer and 1.5" Add a Leaf.

VS the Bilstein 6112's lifted slightly higher on 285/70R17.

Wow! That looks amazing! The 285 set up is glorious, but that being said, the 265's on stock wheels and 2/1.5" looks really good too!
I think I have found the answer to my question: I'll go with the full lift (probably 2.5/1.5) and then put the 285's on later. If it looks as good as your 265 set up I can deal with that for a few month or a year.
    Thanks and have fun

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Make sure you are both talking same country for mpg.

    USA (3.8L per gal) so 17mpg = CDN (4.5L per gal) 20mpg.

    1 CDN gallon = 1.2 USA gallons.

BTW, thats the only math I know aside from addition…

    My truck with Bilstein 5100s and KO2 265 75 16.

Bilstein lift on front is a massive 0.8 inch…

Back sits higher depending on what load I carry as I have Firestone air bags in the back. Those air bags are the best money I have ever spent on any truck over the past 40 years.

My mpg dropped significantly going from 265 70 16 to 265 75 16, and both sets were KO2. I lost an average of 2.5 mpg with just that minor bump in size .

On steep hills like the Coquihalla connector from Kelowna to Merritt, I also lost significant power on the steepest grades. With a heavy load in the pickup, I am now hitting a max 115kmh versus 130kmh with the smaller tire. So the engine working a lot harder on those steep grades due to the bigger tires.

On the flats I would not have noticed much change in power.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
Yeah I use a scan gauge with US gallons, I haven’t adjusted for the bigger tires so could be a hair better as well.
I was running C load 285s KO2s which are lighter than the 265s E load.
This is a shot of my scan gauge driving non stop from Kamloops to Jasper, 456 km getting 21 US mpg on that trip. 60mph speed limit though, which makes for easy driving.

I believe you, if I was only going 60 MPH, it's much higher, when we drive HWY 2 over Steven's Pass or other 2 lane mountain roads that are 60 MPH or less, I see 18-19 MPG sometimes. It's usually fully loaded down with camping gear in the bed. I'm running SL's with the same load rating as a C, so I can understand how you're getting 20.
