I currently have 285/70/17 on my 2020 6ft bed tacoma with Fox 2.0 suspension but am getting a bit over the rubbing and honestly might prefer a slightly smaller tire. Anyone have any photos of their rigs with a 285/65/17 tire with similar lift that I can see and your input on how they ride compared to 33s. Thanks in advance

Why not go down to 275?

What uca/alignment specs are you running? What about your wheel offset?

Might be easier and cheaper just to fix the rubbing unless your up for a tire replacement as is.

Almost forgot to include where is it rubbing

Very minimal width difference. Have you considered 33" pizza cutters??

@Veet-88 i have icon tubular UCA’s with the fox 2.0 suspension. Tires are just about ready to be replaced that’s why I was thinking of trying something new this round but wanted a similar look with a bit better mpg and no running

@Tocamo are you referring to the tread pattern? Does that make a big difference even if they are the same size tire?

So you'll drop a bit of weight but narrowing up the tire will have the next biggest impact on mpg and clearance.
Going to a 255/80r17 will be the tallest but the narrowest 275 will be the best all round option.
I personally have not seen anyone run a 285/65.
I would look into finding out your alignment specs if your running factory specified caster it will rub the cab mount. Getting a few extra degrees 4.5 is what I remember being the sweet spot for mine with a 285/70r17 on a 17x9 +1 wheel.
Your wheel specs will determine how bad you will rub aswell anything over a 0 offset and it's 50/50 some get away with it some don't.

Wheel specs will also determine your next tire size. If you want to try the skinnys you need to have a fairly narrow wheel.
