A Tacoma, just like everybody else...
    That's pretty much it man.
Two downsides that may or may not be valid:
    1. I have seen people say that modifying the cab mount increases the risk of your wheel crushing/penetrating your foot well in the event of an accident. To my knowledge we have no evidence of this but sounds somewhat logical
    2. Decreases resale value. I doubt this one since most people want bigger wheels from the get. I could however see a dealership using this as an excuse to give you less money on atrade in.

Front Suspension Components came in today, just waiting on wheels & tires so I can get everything installed.

Is there anything in particular I need to be aware of or that I should mention when I get everything installed?

My buddy & I installed the ironman lift today. Took about 4 hours. Wheels and tires getting installed Thursday. Feel accomplished & happy to have things coming together.

The install was pretty straight forward, it was nice to learn about the suspension a bit, and local shops quoted me $1700 for installation. So it was nice to save some $$

Do you like the lift so far? I’m thinking about buying an Ironman lift and UCA’s this weekend. There’s just not too much info on the ironmans. Wondering what height and load options you chose as well.

    thanks!

So far so good. I went with stage 2, had them pre assembled for 3" of lift. They ride great so far, however I know they will need to break in a bit more. They will also likely settle about an inch or so in the front, but I will simply have the front shocks adjusted to get back that inch of lift. I think for the load, I chose the middle option, to increase payload. It's a little stiff in the back, but not too bad. The components are much, much beefier than stock components.

Hope this helps. However I haven't had them on long enough for a thorough, and honest review. Installed them on Tuesday

Thanks yeah that helps. I wanted to increase the payload in the back as well as I’ll have my RTT and bed rack etc… I just wanted to ask some people with first hand experience, I would hate it if it was ungodly stiff in the back. Sounds like it isn’t too bad though.

So I just double checked - I chose the performance payload AAL. If I were you I'd maybe go with constant load - if you choose to keep RTT and other gear in the bed continuously.

Yeah. It won’t be constant. I’ll also call the Ironman guys and see what they think. I just don’t want the back end to be too rigid or saggy when I occasionally weigh it down. Thanks for your insight though, I’ll let you know how it goes when I do it!

No problem. Also keep an eye out, they do multiple deals throughout the year. I was able to score a 25% off on the stage 2. It was $2100 after tax, shipping, etc.

Yeah I think they currently have a Free upgrade from stage 1 to stage 2 and a 20% off as well. I think it was coming in under 2k actually. Their deals are pretty insane, I always window shop on their deals but this time I think I have to do it!

How you liking the suspension? Any pics afterwards etc.. I'm deciding on tires but I got the Ironman stage 2 lift kit coming in soon.

Absolutely love the lift! Suspension is smooth as butter, runs much better than my stock suspension (SR Model)

The tires I went with are mickey thompson atzp3. I don't hear the road noise at all. Rides smooth as well.

I opted to install the lift myself with my friend who has a 2 post lift. It took maybe 4-5 hours, and was fairly straight forward following their install video.

Hope you like yours! Send pics when you get it installed!

Wheels I opted for are 17x9 -6mm offset.

Tires are 285.70.17 Mickey Thompson atzp3

Thanks for the after pics! Good to hear you like how it rides! I'm on the "I don't want to lose too much" mpg train. So I was thinking of going 265/75/16 K02's but really not sure if I should just bite the bullet and go 285 like you did! It obviously looks so good!!! Truck drives fine with the extra weight etc..?

Before lift/wheels/tires I was around 20-23mpg combined driving.

After lift/wheels/tires I am averaging 16-18 mpg combined driving.

I say bite the bullet and go 285s. Maybe try to find a lighter tire / wheel combo if you can.

Also, I have read a lot on the forum on the KDMax or OVTune helping with a slight mpg increase after lift/wheels/tires. I will prob pull the trigger on that next as well.

Another note. I've also read a lot of people talking about the Tacoma searching for gears on the highway, I never noticed until I lifted and added wheels and tires. Took a small road trip 6hrs and noticed it. Cruise control was almost painful to use, so I'm hoping that a tune will help with this.

The engine basically revs to 3000-4000 rpm just to increase speed slightly 2-3 mph, where as you could just slightly throttle to increase the speed without the cruise control.

So now, until I have a tune I don't use cruise control on highways. The ECT mode does help, but I will be after a tune ASAP.

Yeah for sure. I do daily drive this thing for the most part. Don't want it to look too wimpy but don't want to deal with Freeway speed problems. I've heard good things about the tune too. If I go 32 or 33, a tune is coming right after it!! You leaning towards KDMax or OVTune?

KDMax. Only because I have heard a few people switch from OV to the KD. I'm sure both are awesome.

@bzzr2 I thought the same. I had a figure of $800-$900 tops in my head. Worked out in the end I suppose!

def a little high seeing as you and a friend did it in 5hrs!

my last tacoma lift install cost me roughly $450 (Canadian pesos…!) including alignment. this didn’t include new upper arms though.

sounds like all is well on your end :)
