Hey World! I have a 14 Tacoma. Levelers upfront (i think 1.5") and 2" blocks in the rear. I would like to install 285/70/17. Anyone have experience with this setup? Will they fit?

Yes they will fit. You will have to remove your front mudflaps, do some minor fender trimming (easy enough, you can use a box cutter), and you may or may not need a cab mount chop

I have 1.6” lift in the front and had a lot of rubbing with 285/70/17. You will need a body mount chop like TheRicksta said, but other than that and mud flaps you should be good. I only rub my finder when backing up to the to the left at full turn. (I also have mud tires so depending on what you get it may be a little smaller)

Thanks for the responses. I don't have the experience or the equipment to weld. Maybe I can get a body shop to cut and weld it for me....Or maybe I can go with a 275/70 ??

I have 265/75r16 on my truck with spacers on the front and a 2 inch block in the rear. My rear end sags (from the shell) because of the new leafs that toyota put in from the recall. Thought I'd show you a slightly larger but skinnier tire than 275/70. I have zero rub with this set up. However, I added 1.25 inch wheel spacers because there was less than a inch of clearance between the tire and uca.

Edit: Didn't see you were running a 17 inch rim. My tires would be about 1/2 inch smaller than the 275/70.

Looks good! Thanks for the visual. I'm starting to think that 265/75 will be my best option. Plus the 285/70 might kill my gas mileage, as its my daily driver

Check out 255/80/17 - you won't need a CMC for that as long as you have your caster close to 2.5 and they're a true 33" tire. I have the same thing but in a 16 (255/85/16). Also, just the front mudflap needed to be removed on mine (the rears were fine but I take them off when I go off-road anyway because you can rip them off pretty easy). They're pretty light weight too (for a 33") since they're a "skinny" tire.

With the 265/75r16 I am getting average 20 on the highway and 16-17 around town. I had 265/70r18's before I changed rims and tires, I was getting 16-17 highway and 14 around town. Here's a picture of my truck with 265/70r18 which is the same size as 265/75r17.

69C147CF-38E4-4870-8ADC-56453F3EDEC3.jpg Mine are 285/70/17 mud tires and it does kill the mpg. In town I only get about 13mpg.

Ooooh don't think I want to do that. It looks really good but do not want 13 mpg. Thanks for the info.

I believe they were mastercraft courser axt's. They seemed like decent tires. I just didn't like the 18 inch rim.

Ended up with 285/70/17 & 2" lift all around. Had to remove front mud flaps. But I'm happy. It has a much better stance IMO. The tires do rub slightly when i turn the wheel all the way, but no biggie ....The ride actually feels better too.. Maybe cuz of the new rear shocks....Before after photos below.

Black vinyl paint on those stock rims would finish off the look,.... nice truck!
