Hey friends. I want to put 185/70R17 tires on my Toyota, you guys got any pictures of yours? Also I am gonna add a 3 inch front lift and a 2 inch rear lift. Will that be enough to avoid rubbing? I also commute to work daily about 55 miles on the freeway, will having bigger tires be a bad idea? Thanks!

Your gas mileage is gonna tank with 33s and a lift.

So you’d recommend not? I definitely don’t wanna pay way more in gas when it’s already so expensive right now.

Gas mileage will drop and depending on the rim and tire combo, you can still have rubbing. I did.

Gas mileage will vary on how you drive. In run 285/70/17s and drive 250-500 miles a week. Get 18-20mpg depending on heavy my foot feels that day. I average 360 mile per tank. 17-19 gallons to fill up.

I wouldn’t say I don’t recommend it, just something to be aware of.

I highly recommend that you do lots of research before buying anything, there's alot more to lifting these trucks than just installing a new set of coilovers and if your going to run 285s, plan on a CMC. Here is mine on 285s and I am stepping up to 35s. Good luck with your truck.

6 inch lift, 285/70/17 mud tires, 2.7l single cab Tacoma and I’m maintaining 22-25mpg daily.........except I’m running 5.29 gearing. Even with the 6 inch lift, if I run brand new mud terrains, I rub slightly at full lock. Still have yet to do my cmc.

My gas mileage took a hit going from 265's to 285's, but not a huge one. My tanks are anywhere from 17-22 mpg depending on how much stop and go there is. As far as fitment, I had to do a CMC, pinch weld hammer, and trimming of plastic and some of the steel fender material, but I am also on bone stock suspension. With 3in of lift only on the street you can probably get away with it even if you smack a pothole in a tight turn. My motive was to make it fit without a lift so I have all the clearance I need even if I do put on a lift.

At the end of the day the only way you're gonna find out how your truck responds is to throw them on there and try it out!

I have a 4 inch lift on my truck with 285/70/17 - 10 ply tires. I didn’t have to do a cmc or anything to the pinch weld and I have plenty of clearance, I do rub on my heavy duty mud flaps. As far as gas mileage I get about 12-14 mpg.8E782137-C76C-45A2-A81F-ED1E14F86583.jpgB98CD0A5-5117-4479-AE8A-424F15C4278F.jpg

Looks sick! Where did you get those window visors? I can’t find the ones that fit perfectly with the window like yours!
