This thread has been quite helpful.
Once my bets clear from this election I'm going with the gunmetal FN FXpros and 285/75/17 AT3 XLTs with white lettering.
I wanted to go with the Toyo AT III but cant get the White lettering in this size...oh well.

Man I love the ridge grapplers but I can't see myself putting them as they're like 74 lbs each? Most likely will go MTRs at 64lbs with c-range when I go up to 35s.

Anyone with 285/75/17 Cooper AT3 XLTs who can comment on snow traction on the Tacoma?

How's those NRG tires, quiet on the pavement I'm guessing?

And did you powdercoat your Pro Skid Plate?

    Nice clean setup!

So far (less than 200 miles on them) I like them much better than the St Maxx (265/75/16 on ray 10’s) they replaced. Had less than 5k miles on the coopers and got tired of them.

I actually cerakoted it black/burnt bronze. Thanks!

Haha i’m one of those guys... i did everything before the regear...

To be honest... it’s honestly not much worse than when I had 285s.

That being said I did do the OVTune 2.0, it’s a night and day difference. Way better shifting, smoother acceleration. Don’t get me wrong, my truck is slow as hell, but i didn’t buy it to be fast.

    Regear/Supercharger coming sometime next year.

I think most s/c kits out there are for stock gearing *(as of now at-least). I re-geared to 5.29's and would have to go back to stock gears if I want to put on a s/c someday.
Also, re-gearing limits your max speed. I cannot go faster than 78mph even if I stand on the gas pedal, 80mph if I am standing on gas and going downhill and also the rpms shoot up to over 5k when I do that. Safe upper limit is about 75mph. An s/c on a taco when it could only go upto 78 mph max speed sort-of defeats the purpose.

Ordered a set of 5 Geolander MTs from Discount Tire today in this size. They should look a good bit larger than my 255/80 pizza cutters. I was told they will take about a week to get in...I can’t wait!

When i got up to the snow. it was mud =/. The XLTs did ok. Didn't seem to have any issuses with light mud. I will say traction on wet roads is a lot better than the falkens i had before.
