    Thanks for that!
My 2006 had a 2" Ironman lift and Toyota ''Baja'' wheels.
The 2013 will have the same lift, and has the factory issue SR5 trim wheels.

I have an OME lift and stock Toyota steelies. I want to put 285/75/16's on but I'm sure they are gonna rub the UCA's. It's very close right now with 265/75/16's on.

    I'll play.

    285/75/16 Goodyear MTR K's

    Konig Countersteers
    0mm offset
    4.5 backspacing
    8" wide wheel

    stock UCA
good alignment and small rubbing at stuff and lock to lock.
    No cab mount chop.
I'd say I wheel fairly hard.

You think having like -12mm offset would solve the rubbing problem?

Hey Jose, im not sure if it would totally cure the rubbing but it would help. I think no matter what you're going to have some rubbing somewhere with 285's. If all you do is street driving then you might be fine with no trimming.

I run 285/75/16's on stock steelies with a 1.25 spidertrax, I chopped the cab mount and moved some plastic around at the front of the wheel well and have gotten to a point that I never rub at all. 2.5 inches of lift in the front.

Marc, thanks. I definitely Plan to wheel off road, but the thing that concerns me the most is the Tire Rub. I plan on:

    ICON Stage 5 (SDHQ) 2-3''
    Fuel D517 Krank Wheels (17X9) -12 offset
    Toyo Open Country MT 285/70/17

I just dont want to Chop anything. But i guess if i have to then i will. But if its gonna be too intrusive then I might just stick with 265's

with a -12 you're going to likely get into the fender, at least i do with superbumps in the front and a 0 offset wheel.

285/70 is gonna be almost the same height as 265/75
    Though it will be wider.

Yeah. I'm definitely looking at a more wider configuration.

I have 285/75/16 Dakota Definity MT's on stock SR5 steel wheels. Front lift is Blstn 5100 at lowest setting, OME 886x springs and 1/4" top spacer. Also have LR UCA's. Only trimming I did was cut out the front water nipple in the wheel well and remove the front mud flaps. Without wheel spacers I don't rub, but am super close to the UCA, like half of a pinky, and with the spacers, I don't rub either. I mainly use the wheel spacers for a more agressive stance. I also keep the tires inflated to 35 psi. Even off road, I may have touched the fender twice.

I haven't really thought about this. I hope you guys can answer. Does having 285's go against any wheel travel you might gain from a coil over lift?

So neither one of you guys had to do any cutting and both of you are running 2012/2013 models - hmmmm....

I'm on a 2013 DCSB OR platform with OME 886, LR UCAs and Dakars. I'm really thinking 285s will work on the OR rims. Any comments?

I'm running 255s now, just running out of options for replacements...

    I went with 265's as I was concerned about 285's wanting a re-gear.
The 265's haven't rubbed, and I'd wager based on how I've used mine, the diff from 265 to 285 wouldn't be a problem.
I think the TRD rims widen the wheelbase 1" on each side, IIRC, which I may not.
I'm on an Ironman ~2" lift with stock UCA's.

    I'm running 285/75/16s with 3" lift...

My wheels are 4.5" back spaced and my cab mounts are chopped...I also had to trim a little on the inside fender. I have an off road front bumper so no rubbing there.

Expedition Overland ran 285 Generals with a 3" Icon lift on the stock TRD OR Rims. They mentioned minor rubbing on the UCA but were able to make it work. Not sure what type of other stuff they did like CMC, pinch weld, and fenders. I know that with my stock base steel wheels there was no way I could even get close to fitting the tires without spacers. The tires hit the UCA before I could even get the lug nuts on and last I check my alignment specs were in good order.

Thanks Alan; great info. I lost a bit of power on my 255s w/o a regear but it wasn't a huge concern.

It's really starting to sound like 2012-2014 Tacomas with OR wheels and 2-3" are good to go without much of any body chopping/shaping.

    Anyone else have some thoughts?

    I didn't even take the front mini-flaps off....fwiw.
ou can get those wheels for ~$150-ish per on ebay. Which I took to my dealer, and they matched...I've done biz with them for 30 years tho...and I do their tv commercials.

Yeah I read that too. I've got the LR UCAs and I'm really thinking it all work out. Surely there has to be someone on TW with the OME, OR wheels and LR UCAs that can chime in and solve this mystery!?
