Does anyone know if production variability is contributing mostly to the rubbing concern with 285s? Or is it predominantly how the trucks used?

Im considering biting the bullet and getting scs ray10s in 16s with 285/75/16

Yeah these tires are the worst for gravel.... every time I go through gravel and then back onto asphalt I hear rocks flinging all over the place and hitting my paint

I'm not sure about variability in the truck itself, but researching deep into this subject I see that everyone running an OME lift says no rubbing and pretty much every other lift has rubbing. Not sure the reasoning...

I am going 285. Discount Tire is awesome. I bought the 265/75R16 Cooper STT Pro’s, but I want to 285/75R16’s. They are going to swap them out for me.

I always buy from Discount Tire. How long have you had the 265s?

Did you have your lift on at this time? Am I seeing right that this is 265/70/16 on stock suspension?

265/70R16 is the stock size tire on the TRD Off Road.

I know that’s the stock tire size I’m asking if that is a 265/70/16 on stock suspension

Thanks! I am slowing doing all the small stuff to it so when I do get to lift it (hopefully when the stock tires wear out a long time from now) it will be done and where I want it. I am thinking OME with the headstrong add a leaf pack and LR UCAs, cause I don’t off-road much but if I’m off the road it’s driving through fields and woods roads on a farm. But I may not put the lift on cause of warranty stuff and I’d like to move up to a 275/70/16 or 265/75/16 if I stay on stock suspension.

I’m almost done with mine. I have the lift, tires, wheels, windows tinted, black badges, and TRD Pro Grill on the way. Then I’m going to put on an AFE Mach Force exhaust, Cold Air Intake and air filters and I’m done.

Discount Tire is swapping me out. I only have to pay the difference in the sizes.
