I have Fuel wheels with +1 offset,OME 887 coils wrapped around Bilstein 5100’s on bottom setting and Wolf UCA’s compatable for a 2” lift. If I step up to 285/75/R16 will I rub on anything?

I would say 99.9% chance of rubbing.

You probably need to go higher. I am not aware of those control arms but if you get around 2 inches of lift and enough caster, you would probably be ok. Accutune has uca’s that are meant to prevent rubbing with way more negative offset than that so maybe look at an adjustable control arm if you are going that route.

    Enough for now
A lift doesn’t prevent rubbing. You will absolutely need to trim plastic and get a CMC.:sawzall:

a lift does help prevent the tire from hitting up into the wheel wheel. Ask me how I know

It doesn’t, it just changes where the wheel sits within the same available travel distance. The wheel well doesn’t get bigger just because there’s a lift installed and the larger tires absolutely will rub if doing more than city street driving.

I respect what you are saying but that wasn’t my experience. I had rub with same tire size and same alignment numbers before my lift and flexed it and I rubbed up into the wheel well. I added a 2 inch lift and I no longer had the same issue. Had to have done something. Every truck is different.

Lift doesn’t help clear larger/wider tires on Toyota IFS. Lift will only help clear larger/wider tires if you plan to drive in a straight line and never cycle your suspension.

Solid axle is a different story.

    No sir.

Excellent video that explains Toyota IFS very clearly. He has other awesome videos, I highly recommend.

Your wheel will still hit stock bump stops with your 2” lift if you fully stuff your wheel. Lift makes no difference if you cycle your suspension.

You clearly didn't watch the entire video. I am saying that a lift can help. I am not saying that it is the cure. But to suggest that a lift does nothing is asinine. He says it himself in the video that it does a little. A little is still something.

To fit larger tires, you have to consider a plethora of information. The body mount, the plastic, the tire brand, the tire tread, the control arms, the lift, the wheel backspacing, etc. But to suggest that a lift does absolutely nothing just isn't my experience. And a lot of people keep quoting other posts or using other videos and don't have the actual direct experience. Have you personally attempted to fit bigger tires without a lift? I have and I ran into issues. And have you done everything in that video to fit those larger tires? My backspacing and control arms have been far more important. However, every truck has minor differences so to use a one size all notion to apply to fitting larger tires isn't always the best piece of advice. To fit larger tires, every aspect must be considered. That would be my advice.

question : i am closer to cab mount rubbing with my 285 75 16.

Do wheel spacers put your tires closer to the cab mount, or closer to the front fender liner ? Thanks.

Spacers will make rubbing worse everywhere else, but will put you a bit away from cab mount.
