Hey guys, I've done plenty of reading and I was under the impression that fitting ~33's (285/75R16's) requires a minimum of a 3" lift and a cab mount chop on a 2nd gen. I've been looking around for a good quality leveling kit to bump up the stance a bit without trashing my ride quality or breaking the bank and I was considering Camburg's kit:

    https://camburg.com/shop/suspension...-pre-4wd-05-15-bilstein-5100-entry-level-kit/

According to their specs they claim you can run 285's with their 2.5" lift. Is this just a pipe dream and false advertising? My truck sees a fair amount of dirt ranging from forestry roads to easy/moderate offroad trails (Moab/Colorado area) so if it's going to rub I won't even consider it. On a side note does anyone have input on the kit I linked? I've had good experience with bilstein but I come from a Jeep background so coilovers and IFS are black magic to me. For the record my truck is a 2015 DCSB TRD OR.

Edit: before checking the specs I was planning on getting a set of 265/75R16's to replace my now bald stock Rugged Trails.

I run a 285/70/17 on the same 2.5 spacer kit. with some trimming they'll fit but they do rub on the lca without wheel spacers.

If you don't replace the uca you'll most likely rub body mount and probably will even with uca installed. I did mount chop just to be on the safe side. Just remember every truck is just a. Little different. Mine is set at like 2.75" and sits pretty level with a 1.5" aal in the back. You have to remember ride height is just static, as soon as you start driving, hitting bumps then ride height is irrelevant.

I have been able to run 33" tires on my stock Baja, which is only about 2" of lift in the front, and none in the rear. I had to removed the mud flaps and do a tiny bit of trimming to the fender. I think the key to making it work is the higher offset of the factory faux beadlocks, they push the wheel out far enough that it doesn't rub on any of the suspension components or the cab mount.

Even with UCA's you'll probably rub the body mount. A CMC and some trimming is necessary if you plan a 33" tire. I have 2" of lift with the same tire size you mentioned and it rubs when the wheel is cranked without any trimming
